Hue did a pretty good job. The Raiders were looking like one of the best and most explosive offensive teams in the NFL, leading their division and were on their way to the playoffs before McFadden went down.

—————————-

BS excuse. The Packers had 16 players on IR last year and won the Super Bowl. A good organization has capable back ups for all skilled positions so an injury to one doesn’t devastate the team. McKenzie comes from that atmosphere and will do whatever it takes to make the Raiders better.

------------------------------------

But seriously, how many of those famous "16 players on IR" that the Packers had were starters? If I remember right... Finley was the only one.

I LOVE the Raider fans who come here and try to justify the trade for Carson by saying “the raiders have gotten better players with their lower picks, and their 1st round picks have been busts”

Are you kidding me guys? Your using your OWN INEPTNESS for drafting good players early, as justification for wasting 2 top picks on a 32 y/o has-been. Just because the Raiders make a habit of wasting their top picks by choosing garbage doesn’t make then any less valuable. Using your own logic, consider this… How many 4-6th round picks you could collect by trading down your 1st and 2nd? DOH!!!!

You guys seriously make me laugh more then Jim Schwartz’s antics on the sidelines. And thats saying alot.

==================================
Thumbs up to commitment2excrement for telling it like it is about the Raidahs.

Senile Al may be gone, but it looks like his hold on the Raidahs is not. Senile Al is still running them from his grave.

Why is it that the Raidah fanbase has a bigger criminal element than any other NFL team?
**************************************************commitment2excrement and gmen1987 are the same person, too obvious.

I would be actually shocked if Jackson WAS NOT let go.

McKenzie probably had replacement coaches in mind before his plane ever landed in LA for the interview....and now that he's liable for the coaching position with this title, he may very well toss HJ to the curb and get the guy he really wants.

He could have the top HC in football and you'd have trouble getting to the playoffs next year with that roster. Not sure if Palmer is his guy at QB, although he may not have a choice...RB situation needs to be addressed for depth and health concerns and there's a few other holes on both sides of the ball that need to be filled too.

McKenzie has learned a lot from some of the top GM's over the years...he'll do well if given the chance and not held handcuffed by ownership.

mentioning they have the same agent over and over again and that it might help "smooth" things out is just plain stooopid.

no way McKenzie (or anyone else that reaches his level in the NFL) lets an agent contribute to a head coaching decision...come on - that's not even passable as speculation...

the only thing that having the same agent will help "smooth" things over is McKenzie can ask their same agent to give the news to Hue that he's fired...and to please make it sound nice...

The truth is that the Raiders were done when Jason Campbell went down. He was consistently driving the offense on ten plays or more that ended with a score. that gave the defense time to rest and adjust.

Carson Palmer is a turn over machine, because he is a different type of QB with a different set of skills. The receivers are not used to or trained to catch the ball in stride. Palmer throws a ball on target and Jason see's the open receiver.

The last two weeks of the season Hue Jackson had a meltdown and blew all his fuses. He had no idea of what to say to the team or how to handle the situation. Look no further then Chris Johnson being basically released for the season.

I believe that with a soft voice and a hard hand Reggie McKenzie will square things away.

Jackson had every right to blast the players but it should have been in the locker room and not in front of a media microphone. He threw his coaches under the bus as well even though as head coach he had the authority to make necessary changes. He didn't do it and then he complained about it. He is ultimately responsible. The Palmer trade value is still unknown although they could have failed to get to the playoffs without it. Having an incapable backup qb is his fault. He did a decent job turning the team around but those comments followed by a public attempt at a power grab are enough to send him packing. The raiders have a good opportunity to right the ship. They should take it. Send the right message by firing Hue and then hire a respectable coach.

If McKenzie fires Hue, he is NOT going to replace him with a big name coach.

He will find an assistant or a co-ordinator like Ron Wolf did with Mike Holmgren, and Ted Thompson did with Mike McCarthy, and they will begin a collaboration to rebuild the Raiders.

That's the way these guys work.

Check your egos and drama at the door.

I think Palmer is a good fit for Oakland, but it was a hilariously desperate move by Jackson. He would have been better off with a free agent qb and a losing record. At least he'd have a good excuse and some draft picks to rebuild their defense. Instead he mortgaged the future for a shot at the playoffs. That collapse was even worse when you take into account how lucky they where to win against Houston and K.C.. They should keep him... he's like Rex Ryan without the playoff wins!!
