Unfortunate situation for Philbin. I’m no fan of GB, but I’d hate to see their performance affected by a staff member’s family issues.

It’s Jason Pierre-Paul trying anything to make his asinine prediction come true. Guess what?? Ain’t gonna work Frenchie!!!!

Hope this troubled young man is found safe and he didn’t harm anyone else or himself.

As much as we all love football here, NCAA and NFL, the committment of these coaches seems to cause irreparable harm to their children. Here’s to our children.

Not even Giants fans want to see this.

    Very sad.

I wish the Philbin’s hope in straightening this out.

    Hope he turns up safely.

Um, today is Monday. So he’s been missing for one day? Who hasn’t been missing for a day before? I once took this weird pill and ended up in a forest 4 days later but nobody came looking for me. Being gone for one day gets you in the headlines? Poor kid. Probably just in the middle of an epic Call of Duty battle. He’s in for a shock.

Someone mentioned a river… Google search “Oshkosh police search Fox River” for the related story.

If that’s him, this is extremely sad. Talk about the highs and lows of life. Ready to possibly attain his first head coaching gig, then his son goes missing, possibly a drowning victim.

I know the Packers have his support right now, but support can’t replace a family member. Good luck Joe, I hope this turns out well somehow.

i will joke with the best of them over here, but some of your guys’ comments are so distasteful it’s sickening.

sure, the kid made some mistakes. but looking past that, he’s still a human being with a heart and soul, and he’s still a set of parents’ son.

whether the kid stole a cookie from the cookie jar, or made a deeper crime, he obviously is not fully grown up yet (mentally) and when did we as citizens forget to forgive?

and just so all of you know, police in Wisconsin right now are searching the Fox River in oshkosh right now because someone fell thru the ice there this weekend and is missing. put two and two together, philbin’s son is missing after visiting oshkosh.

the kid’s probably dead…and again…past issues or not…it’s tragic and a father just lost his son. have some compassion people.

Police have not said if this case is related to the search for a man who was reported to have fallen through the ice on the Fox River.

My thoughts go out to his family at this time.

Like Andy Reid, Joe Philbin is one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.

But man did their kids ever suffer from the time commitment that being an NFL coach demands.

Disagree if your trying to say that being an NFL coach demands so much time that you cannot spend an approprate amount of time with your kids/family.

Look at guys like John Harbaugh and Bill Bellicheck to see examples of how great coaches can also be great parents.

Since I’m a Giants fan, no fan of GB this week. However, I am a father and my heart goes out to Joe Philbin. Hope that things somehow, someway turn out for the best for him. I can’t imagine how torn up he is over all the circumstances regarding his son. You truly have my sympathies, Joe. Take care.

    No…You’re a dumb ass!!!!

You should be a Browns fan. Nothing good happens on Sunday’s after 1:00PM!
Seriously, the young man is sick and needs help. I hope he’s found and gets it.
And, I hope Mr. Philbin’s career is not hurt by the negative behavior of his son. Parenting is the most rewarding thing in the world. But, it can be a nightmare if your child has medical or mental health issues. Every parent faces that possible nightmare.
I hope this ends well for the Philbin family and those that were harmed or injured by coach Philbin’s son.

the fox river flows north from Oshkosh area to…Green Bay.

  18. uwsptke says: Jan 9, 2012 3:59 PM

It sounds like he fell into the Fox River. Dive teams are looking for the body. Like the rest of the country, we have very little ice & snow cover right now and temps have been in the 40′s this past week here in Northeast WI, so the ice on the river is practically non-existent.
