Dolphins shoot down Chip Kelly report

Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio - Wisconsin v Oregon Getty Images

It would be a lot of fun to see what Oregon coach Chip Kelly could do in the NFL, but there’s no reason to think he’ll get a chance anytime soon.

A report from a local Oregon television station said the Dolphins contacted Kelly regarding the team’s head coaching position, but Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald says the report is “not true at all.”

The Dolphins were expected to interview Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer on Monday. Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey is also expected to be on the interview list as the team waits to see if Jeff Fisher picks them or the Rams this week.

Stephen A. Smith is still vomiting after Tebrow proved him wrong!

What a fool! Just goes to show that anyone can be a sports analyst!

Why would they even want him? Dude shamelessly runs a pure gimmick offense that does not translate to the pros at all.

Personally I don’t see Chip Kelly coaching in the NFL but who knows.

  6. jdbaker01 says: Jan 10, 2012 9:24 AM

Of course he wouldn’t be considered, he has no experience playing/working/losing with the Dallas Cowboys. Jeff Ireland needs to go.

The dolphins are idiots. Ross has no clue.

Roos want a high octane offense… Chip Kelly runs one. Jeff Fisher certainly does not… I don’t say it’s “The idea” but it’s worth exploring…
Nobody tought and a lot of people still think that Tebow cannot be successuf at this level… and yet he’s proving people wrong… Maybe Kelly can be successful in the NFL if he tweaks his offense a little bit… A lot of teams in the NFL already have some packages that look like a form of spread offense.

Yeah I mean why would you want a young bright and ambitious innovator when you can have yourself a retread. Paging Marty Schottenheimer!! Please see Mr. Ross!

    Why not keep Todd Bowles?

    hiddeneye.

I’m a 40+ year supporter of the Phins, and you are right, they are idiots.

Ross & Ireland both need to go.

As a Falcons observer (Patriots fan) I hope they hire Mularkey!

Seems to be working very well for a certain QB in Denver who doesn’t have enough arm strenght to complete passes sometimes. Thats the beauty of the NFL. Do an offense till someone figures it out, get rid of it for a couple of years till a player comes along that can run it, bring it back, dust it off and when it works cause everyone forgot how to defend it, watch the media crown a player king cause it works for a year (see wildcat)

Armando Salguero is an idiot with no credibility. By the way, he talks like a girl!

The Falcons OC? Does the Fin’s Brass want the fan base to become even more discouraged? I don’t have the answers, but the fins should have much better options.

Dolphins to hire Chilly and let him straighten out this team by bringing in Favre to play QB.LOL

  19. thewizardofbs says: Jan 10, 2012 12:16 PM

    Here’s the fin’s problem.

I would question the judgement of any coach that would even consider working for people like Ross and Ireland. Who want’s a coach with such poor judgement? It’s like the old saying ” I wouldn’t want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member” only in reverse.

Occupy the Dolphins scheduled 1st home game next season. We need to take our team back from Morons like Ross, Ireland & Peterson.
P.S. Fan vision sucks also Ross & Peterson!

Not that I want him to go anywhere, but what, he not good enough for you?
