Aaron is a product of an easy time playing with the best play calling coach around with a team loaded with offensive talent and sat and watched and learned from the best for three years while most are thrown to the wolves to sink or swim. AR is a spoiled baby with esteem issues that whines if he isn’t perfect and that cost them the game against the Giants. Eli is better also.

For me it has been a great ride with all three. Favre ended his career and any boy wonder does but that does not take away the afternoons I loved watching him play. Starr, the ultimate teamate was not as showy as the next two but his era didn’t call for it and Lombardi wouldn’t allow it. And Rogers is Rogers. I may not understand him but love to watch him play wth that casual intesity he exudes

No one cared when he went to the Jets, most ppl watched the Jets to see farve…..but you dont go to a division rival and expect to be well liked, especially when favre #3 behind Lombardi and Starr in packer lore.

Yes Aaron is the greatest today but hes a long way from surpassing Favre lifetime. Championships matter but they are only one component.

But there is nothing as sad as a once-great athlete who stays on past his prime, and there was nothing as pathetic as Favre in his last few years when he had lost the speed off his fastball. He refused to admit (to himself) that he could no longer make those throws that he used to be able to make, and it cost his team twice – for the Pack in the 2008 playoffs against the Giants and for the Vikes in the 2010 playoffs against the Saints.

Not to mention the annual retirement soap opera – once is ok, but ONLY once.

Yes, Favre was great for a time but then he started to show his true self – the selfish, me-first/team last attitude, the self-delusions of grandeur, the dishonesty. And then later we found out he was so much less than that even. And so, Favre will be forever stained.

There will never be a blind Favre backer in WI again and there are some who will never forgive him for his Diva antics. People will always say, “He did great things with the Pack but….” There will always be that “But”.

Other than Hater fans – and I don’t even blame most because everyone has their faves – have you ever heard anyone at all ever have anything negative to say about Rodgers? I’ve never heard anyone talk about a bad attitude, or laziness, or anything but a modest, down to earth guy working his ass off to be the best he can be and inspiring the same in others. Sure, he’s kinda dorky, but who wouldn’t want to have a beer/burger with him?

That is a huge, huge deal in WI.

RE: win the Superbowl so Favre can eat it — best headline I saw last year about the win, was a newspaper across the state who plastered a big picture on the front page of Rodgers hoisting the trophy and in Packers font and colors wrote: #4

Favre was great, no point about it. Rodgers is at leastas great and, if he holds up, will be much greater.

As opposed to what, somebody like you who has been manipulated by the local Wisconsin media into hating Favre? The local media was on Thompson’s side since day one, and slanted every story that way. Of course they had to be, the Packers are the bread and butter for any local media outlet. It is what sells Newspapers and gets ratings. They need to access so the last thing they are going to do is tick off the current management. You are the epitome of the local sheep in Wisconsin who has been conditioned into hating Favre by the local media and the negative PR campaign orchestrated by the guy Thompson hired who lied to the world about WMDs.

Favre was a great QB, maybe one of the greatest ever. He had a great career, one that lasted 20 seasons. There has never been a tougher QB. He won a SB and got to another with a good team. He took teams that had no business going to the playoffs to the playoffs. He is a 1st ballot HOFer.

Rodgers looks to be a great QB. He has already won a SB, and has a legit chance to win a 2nd one this season. He is on a great offense and should continue to put up great numbers for seasons to come. He may end up a HOFer, but to be fair he doesn’t have enough of a body of work yet to say that for sure. I believe when he retires he will be a 1st ballot HOFer.

Both great QBs but it is too early to fully and fairly compare the two.

By the way Packers fans better hope Rodgers is great, because that defense is not playing anywhere near the way they played last season.

You can’t compare their careers at this point, but no one in their right mind can say Favre ever played this well. Rodgers has no weakness, while Favre had several.
