Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill is perhaps the biggest beneficiary of Matt Barkley and Landry Jones’ decisions to return to school.
The talented, high ceiling prospect looks like the third quarterback in this draft, with some analysts believing he could go as early as the top ten picks.
He was a player we were looking forward to seeing at the Senior Bowl, but it appears he won’t be there. Tony Pauline of SI.com and DraftInsider reports that Tannehill suffered a “significant” foot injury that will prevent him from practicing in Mobile.
I would write more, but it’s confusing to mix draft hype with playoff hype and my brain is feeble.

While Tannehill appears to posess the skill set to develop into an NFL starter, he’s only played QB for one season at the Div I level. He’ll be a project more than a prospect early in his pro career.
With shanahan coaching the senior bowl, this chump did the right thing by not playing in it. He doesn’t want to showcase himself for a coach and organization that is going no where in Washington.
Tannehill might have made the first round as a WR if he remained at the position. That is something to consider.
Tannehill is way overrated brandon weeden is a better qb thsn he is
Second best QB in this draft behind Luck. Yes, better than Griffin.
Cleveland, Washington and Seattle would be the best fits.
“Tannehill might have made the first round as a WR if he remained at the position. That is something to consider.”
He’s going to go in the first round as a quarterback. This injury won’t stop that
Tannehil played almost 2 years at QB, not one. Goes to show how bad his Aggie coaches miss on evaluating players. They put this guy at WR, a good one, after it was initially decided he wasn’t good enough to play QB at A&M. He only got to play because the other guy. Stunk!!.

Wheeden will be 29 next year, dude. Not a lot of GMs clamoring to draft a 29 year-old QB.

I can really see Washington drafting him.
Taneyhill playing wr was more about the lack of talent the Ags had at wr when Sherman came in. Stephen McGee and Jerod Johnson were in front of him at qb. Sherman installed Johnson and Taneyhill as wrs, in front of 17 scholarship wrs (OK, 16, Jeff Fuller was still the No 1 wr). So, sorry, his playing wr for two years wasn’t coaching stupidity. He had two studs in front of him. The guy is big, smart and runs a 4.6. First rounder all the way. He’s a better prospect than Griffin. Brandon Wheeden? Are you kidding me? Really?
