Aaron Ross returns for Giants

Antrel Rolle promises that his Giants defense won’t give up 38 points again to the Packers.

That will be a lot easier if they are healthy in the back end, and the team got good news Wednesday with cornerback Aaron Ross’ availability at practice.

Ross passed all his post-concussion tests and has been cleared to practice, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger. Running back Danny Ware has not been cleared.

Ware, Ahmad Bradshaw, and linebacker Mark Herzlich all will miss practice Wednesday. Safety Deon Grant, who was in and out of Sunday’s win, will be available.

There are a lot of reasons to think the Giants defense will be better this week. Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora are healthier than they were a month ago, and probably healthier than the Packers offensive line.

  1. What exactly is wrong with the Packers offensive line? Chad Clifton is healthy and will start and they should have the offensive line healthy and all playing in their actual positions for the first time since week 10. That comment sounds like another media member trying to invent more reasons why the Packers should be worried about an upset.

As for Rolle, JPP and Tuck, a lot of talking coming out of NY this week. Nothing out of GB, just going about their business…don’t be surprised if they come out and steamroll this collection of big mouths.

  2. Aaron Ross is no shut-down corner by any means, and he’s definitely frustrating for any Giants fan to watch, but the secondary is better when he’s playing. There isn’t much depth behind him, with Prince Amukamara still learning the ropes. The Giants will need all top 3 corners with all 3 safeties as well if they want to cover the Packers receiving corps. Hopefully for them the D line will keep the secondary for having to cover too long.

  3. I don’t want to downplay the challenge that the Giant’s front four defensive linemen pose, but why does everyone keep referring to health problems on the GB OL? We’ve got our starting 5 back for the first time since game 3 this season…isn’t that “getting healthy at the right time”???

  4. Everyone in Vegas saw the same game you in the Metlife Stadium. Packers are healthier too. Giants weren’t the only ones with injuries that week. Instead of quiet, the Giants get to deal with the wrath of Lambeau Field on Sunday night. They are loud and the G-men will be chilled to the bone. Packers are favored by what now, 9?

  5. I wish the Packers’ Offensive Line was healthier too. Even though all of their starters are playing, I’m sure one of them has at least gotten a cold within the last couple of weeks.

  6. When will fans stop referring to their favorite team as “we”? YOU’RE NOT PART OF THE TEAM! And before Packers fans start talking about community ownership, stop it. You made a donation, not an investment.
