After reading anonymous quotes from some of his teammates ripping Mark Sanchez and saying they’re rather play with Peyton Manning, Jets center Nick Mangold has had enough.

Mangold took to Twitter on Wednesday to take issue with his unnamed teammates who told the New York Daily News that Sanchez is “lazy and content because he knows he’s not going to be benched.”

“This,” Mangold tweeted, with a link to the Daily News article, “is false. If ‘unnamed sources’ want to attack Mark, man up and put your name to it.”

Mangold makes a fair point: If you’re a player on the Jets, and you want the Jets to get better, anonymously attacking Sanchez through the media is not the right way to go about it. A couple of Jets players have manned up and put their names on their comments, including backup quarterback Greg McElroy and running back LaDainian Tomlinson. But much of the criticism from within the Jets has come from people who didn’t put their names behind that criticism. It’s not surprising that Mangold is unhappy about that.
