The Chargers need a new offensive coordinator

C. Shelmon

We have yet another coordinator vacancy in the NFL.

Chargers offensive coordinator Clarence Shelmon won’t return for an eleventh season in San Diego.

“I’m just done. You know when it’s time. It’s time for me to go and do some other things with my life,” Shelmon said in a statement from the team.

Shelmon has been a coach for 37 years and was a running backs coach from 1978-2006, working with players like Emmitt Smith, Chris Warren, and LaDainian Tomlinson.

Shelmon may be the least known coordinator in the league since it’s Norv Turner’s offense and Turner calls the plays. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune says the position will be filled from within.
