I noticed something. Almost every comment where someone says that Mike Tice will be a horrible OC, or Cutler is a horrible QB, has a like:dislike ratio of about 1:10. See that's what I like about this site, the people here actually think about things instead of just going, "Mike Tice needs a little help with passing, so he shouldn't be a OC", or "Jay Cutler got hurt in the playoffs once, so he doesn't deserve to QB ever again". While people who mention Tice's experience in Minnesota and as a tight end or how Cutler has done well considering his team context get a 25:1 like:dislike ratio. Well done, peoples.

Quite a few comments from Bucs fans. Sorry but Greg Olson doesn't deserve the blame for the Bucs season.

It's a QB driven league and Josh Freeman was exposed as having a fluke season last year. No coach could have fixed his lack of composure midseason

I think Cutler has the tools to succeed, whether the weapons will be there for him is a whole other issue entirely. What he needs is an OC that can read a defensive plan and know when to throw the screen and when to look deep. I think the Bears are one of the best teams at the screen with Forte, and why they run it less is beyond me...it would help keep their opponents honest a lot more.

If the Bears fail to improve on the offensive side of the ball next year, the entire staff from top to bottom needs to be cut loose, because right now this looks like someone throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks.

As a Pack fan, I've questioned but respected Lovie, but I really can't wait to see how good meathead is going to be with his hands on the controls. We'll see.

First order of business … get Cutler to stop acting like such a wussie. Second, get Cutler to stop wearing his helmet halfway on his head when sitting on the sidelines. Makes him look retarded.

Only the Chicago Bears..... In today's pass-happy NFL, only the Bears anoint an offensive coordinator with a "lack of experience with the passing game." Call me crazy, but shouldn't the guy calling the plays have a firm grasp on the entire offense? Not just blocking and running? Moreover, if Tice is credited with keeping the O-Line afloat these past few years with a lack of talent and continuity, won't it be a step back to reduce his role with those guys? Instead he'll be occupied studying such things as how opposing DB's will line up to jam Earl Bennett off the line...

=====================

Do you have any concrete examples of Cutler acting like a "wussie"? Or are you one of those people that gets their opinions from message boards?

Because I watched Cutler getting slaughtered by opposing defenses this year due to terrible offensive line play yet stand in there and deliver great passes milliseconds before being blasted by yet another rusher running free.

I mean, that's what I SAW, of course I didn't confirm that that actually meant he was tough by seeing what the message boards said.

Where the hell does this "Mike Tice has a lack of knowledge in the passing game" nonsense come from?

The man was a TE in the NFL for 14 years, playing under 4-5 different systems. He was than an OL coach in Minnesota with Brian Billick as the OC where they had a pretty sophisticated passing attack. He was then a HC and hired Scott Linehan (who has subsequently been a HC and an OC twice), and his teams ranked in the top 10 in passing 3 out of his 4 years as HC. He then did odd jobs around Jacksonville before going back to be an OL coach with Mike Martz as the OC.

I'm pretty sure that during his time working with those guys and in all those different systems, he's picked up a thing or two along the way. The man is over qualified for being a first time OC.

I didn't love him as a HC for my Vikes, but this sites constant efforts to make him out to be the Homer Simpson of the NFL is rather ridiculous.

They should hire him….and then ask him to run the defense.

Like how when they drafted Greg Olsen, and insisted on using him primarily as a blocker.

---------------------------------------------------

OR, you should post about entirely inaccurate things in the hopes of earning a few "thumbs ups."
