Former Buccaneers and Colts coach Tony Dungy knows a thing or two about what it takes to become a successful NFL head coach. Dungy, after all, one made the successful transition from coordinator to coach.
During Thursday’s PFT Live, I asked Dungy to identify his short list of candidates, if he were filling a coaching position.
Among others, Dungy listed Oregon coach Chip Kelly, whose name recently emerged as a possible candidate in Miami. “Chip knows how to motivate people,” Dungy said. “He thinks outside the box.”
That said, Dungy hopes Kelly stays put for three more years. Dungy’s son, Eric, just completed his redshirt freshman season with the Ducks.
