While I do agree that Dungy is biased since Kelly coaches his son, I didn’t believe the question was legit, because by that same token, I should be free to assume that any white coach/analyst that thinks Luck is better than RG3, is only saying so because Luck is white. The race thing goes both ways. But that fact is that race has absolutely NOTHING to do with this topic.

It depends on the coach and circumstances but in general no, just look at Raheem Morris and Hue Jackson, to name a few if the organization is going to hire a young head coach depending how young you are talking about then you better not give them too much power they don’t have the experience to use the power wisely.
I have never seen so many great coaches out of work in my 30 plus years of being a fan of football; names like Brian Billiick, Steve Mariucci, Dennis Green, Bill Cowher, Herm Edwards, Jon Gruden, Eric Mangini, etc etc. Then you got guys like Norv Turner who don’t belong in head coaching positions, it makes you wonder how smart are these people at the top making this decisions?

Race has nothing to do with this topic , but to your point there are several analyst that like RG3 over Luck and vice versa, obviously it depends on the system a team would run for the player. Secondly wilson and tannehill are diffrent players who both show a lot of promise i don’t think you can go wrong with either, yea Wilson is short, but so is Drew Brees

Of course Dungy favoring RG3 has nothing to do with the fact that RG3 is just as good & accurate passing the ball as Luck, but far, far better running with the ball.

Says Suh is dirty but who was coaching Sapp in his dirty days? Dungy drafted him out the U TO BE DIRTY!!! If Vick was white would Dungy had taken him under his belt and given him a belly rub? MAYBE, but the question posed is a legit one

If Kelly decided to go to the NFL it would have to be a place like Miami where Reggie Bush can be LaMichael James. If they could draft RG3 to be Dennis Dixon/Darron Thomas, it could work out.

The only problem, the NFL has too much of a win now mentality, ie coaches getting fired after one or two years.

As good a mind Kelly has for coaching an NFL owner would probably fire him before he can turn over the roster in a way to make his offense in his image. It isn’t as simple as a RB or QB, you have to make over the offensive line to be lighter and more agile in order to keep up the pace of his offense. Bringing in the right personnel will take time…will an owner give him enough time?

While I’m sure Dungy favored Caldwell as his successor, I highly doubt he had final say on who the next coach would be on his way out the door. No way Caldwell becomes coach unless Irsay, Polian AND Manning all liked the move as well.

And the only reason Belichick won a superbowl is because he had Tom Brady. And the only reason Sean Payton won a superbowl is because he had Drew Brees. And the only reason McCarthy won a superbowl is because he had Aaron Rogers. And the list goes on.
The only way ANY coach wins a superbowl is either with a very good/great QB or with a once-in-a-generation defense (’85 Bears, ’01 Ravens, ’03 Bucs).
Dungy was a great coach. Do you even remember how horrendous the Tampa Bay Bucs were for their ENTIRE existence until he got there and made them perennial contenders?

Dungy also said the same thing about Lezlie Frazier last year, great thinking. The only reason he won a superbowl is because he had Peyton Manning
