APMorris Claiborne may be the second LSU cornerback in as many years to go in the top five of the NFL Draft.
Claiborne will announce he’s going pro Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
Some analysts believe Claiborne could be a better prospect than Patrick Peterson a year ago. No matter who you prefer, Claiborne’s draft stock should have him taken very early like Peterson was in 2011. Claiborne won the Jim Thorpe award as college football’s top defensive back.
A press conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Defensive lineman Michael Brockers will also announce his plans then.
UPDATE 1:40 p.m. ET: Brockers will go pro as well, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

dude is listed at CB on both espn and lsu’s roster. he played plenty of nickel corner in the nat champ and got smoked.
Umm yeah @vonmiller58 while mathiue does play all over the place , to call someone an idiot because he said the honey badger was a corner is kinda showing u to be the idiot. Not only is Tyrone listed as a corner by lsu but at 5’9 180 he’d be a bit of a joke trying to play safety even at the college level.
Claiborne is not only the best corner in tha draft but as far as being a cover guy he is better than Peterson. PP is just a much better athlete all around.
Any team that gets this kid will have 10 year pro bowl type talent.

Not sure what position Mathieu plays but, I do know that in the BCS title game Mathieu got torched and Alabama stayed away from Claiborne! My Vikings NEED to pick him! I don’t think they can trade down to #6 & still get him, someone will pick him before then.
