I dont know what “dim wit” would pull out the examples of Bill Bilicheck (went 41-44 with terrible Qb’s in Cleveland, and 11-5 without Brady on the Patriots) and Bill Cowher (115-76 and a trip to the SB without Big Ben) to cite examples of how their QB’s made them “great” coaches. Both of these guys are lightyears better than Caldwell (23-69 college record and 2-14 pro record without a “great QB)

I literally dont think you could have picked worse examples to “prove” your point… Again I say to you…. “try again”

Bill Cower went to a Superbowl without Ben and always had a top defense.

Bill Bilichek went 11-5 without his starting QB.

The Texans finished 12-4 even after they lost their starting QB.

The Dolphins I believe finished at 7-9 after they lost their starting QB, as did the Cardinals.

While having a drop off when losing your starting QB is acceptable, going from a 10-14 win team down to a 2 win team is not. Manning had nothing to do with them having among the worst ranked defense and special teams… Not to mention terrible tackling and horrible game management.

Ultimately Caldwell has shown ZERO ability to extract wins based on coaching and gameplans even though he still had Wayne, Clark, Mathis, and Freeny on his team. No excuse for that…

As far as 300+ Million people, I obviously meant to say “in the U.S.” but your attempt to correct me was even worse considering the statement is technically true that this world does infact have more than 300+ million people…. Sorry…. Try again

1) Jim Caldwell’s record is 26-22 (with playoffs)
If you include college head coaching, he still has another 26 wins you aren’t including.

Caldwell was a stretch when he was hired based on less than stellar HC experience before but was simply overseeing a Veteran Team (which the Colts are NOT anymore)… Mornhinweg has an even less enthusiastic resume. He’s 5-27 as a Head Coach, clearly is not the man to lead the Colts into this next era.

As a Season Ticket Holder, I’ll be pretty irked if they make such a lazy hire like this. Granted, I believe this is just a “Rumor by Association”, but these things can grow legs pretty quickly.

While I think replacing Caldwell going into the next era is probably a necessary move, replacing him with Mornhinweg would be ridiculous. Replacing a Coach who is 2 years removed from a Super Bowl appearance with a coach who completely failed as a Head Coach is not going to sit well with fans… or me.

Marty is one of the best offensive co-ordinators and QB teachers in the league. He has a brilliant mind for creating tricky plays that catch defenses of guard and make them look dumb. His stint as a HC however…obviously didnt go well, regardless of the talent level he had to work with. This Eagle’s team is on the rise and to return only to build on the talented players like McCoy, Maclin, Celek, Vick perhaps DeSean again if too good to pass up for an aging Colts team, who is semi-rebuilding. Marty is Andy’s right hand man and it would be disastrous for the offense to have to go on without him. Philly loves Marty, i pray he stays.

He’s not fit to make the big decisions, but that’s fine. As long as he fits well into his job, there’s no problem with staying as a Coordinator as opposed to HC.

Just look at his work during Garcia’s great year in Philly – that was Marty calling the plays, not Andy. Now look at his years as HC of the Lions; complete failure. There’s a pretty big difference as to which position he was better at, and it should be pretty obvious for Grigson/Irsay/etc. to see.

Anyone can look great when Manning is your QB… Your true coaching skills come out in times of adversity, and that is where Caldwell has failed miserably.
