The irony here is the Rams and Dolphins play each other next season in what could be "THE FISH BOWL!"

I was one of the many who pushed for Shula to be replaced with Jimmy "THE SNAKE OIL SALES MAN" Johnson! I apologize for that now, and I don't want to be wrong twice! Somebody needs to tell this guy to "FISH(ER) OR CUT BAIT!"

As for coaches who have Super Bowl wins with other teams, nine of them went on to coach other teams, two went to a Super Bowl with another team, and NEITHER WON! This is why I wouldn't pursue a Billick, Gruden, or Cowher.

The nine coaches in question were Johnson, Vermeil, Seifert, Flores, Ditka, Holmgren, Parcells, Shanahan, and Lombardi. Lombardi gets a pass for dying, and nobody short of Jesus Christ can win under Daniel Snyder, so Shanahan gets a pass.

Johnson was a bust because he didn't have the Minnesota PIGEONS to give him 8 picks for a washed-up Herschel Walker. Seifert was a bust in Carolina. Flores tanked in Seattle. Ditka bombed. Vermeil was getting a paycheck in KC.

Parcells got there with New Englan but wanted to leave. He didn't stay long enough ANYWHERE ELSE, and Holmgren lost with Seattle in the Super Bowl he took them to. Ironically the Super Bowl Holmgren won was with GB against Tuna when Tuna was with the Pats.

The guys story makes no sense? Meh, maybe maybe not. Why does he have to be leveraging the two teams? Seems likely he wants to land in a spot to win, if its about money he could become a color commentator like all the other old coaches and players do.

In case you're not aware of the $$$ being thrown his way he's going to get paid guaranteed money of at least 5 to 7 million dollars wherever he ends up, no matter what he does. The average NFL HC salary is around 3.5 million, Highest is 8 million (team won 7 games and didn't make playoffs and lowest is 1.3 million (team didn't make playoffs). In case you didn't do the math with my plan a Super Bowl win nets around $4,000,000, still a lot of money but is based on performance. As stated he is going to make more than that no matter what he does, where he does it. Hopefully it won't be in Miami.

This is getting better than the final episode of Dallas. I read on another blog that the anonymous source stated this was not about money, not about negotiating but was but was about winning. Great, now we're getting somewhere. So I have a plan for either the Rams, Dolphins whoever. Since it is about winning and not about money lets pay him if he wins. There's a novel idea. The breakdown is as follows;
$250,000.00 signing bonus
$10,000.00/mo salary
$20,000 for every win
$500,000 for 8 wins
$500,000 making playoffs
$500,000 playoff win
$500,000 if SB attained
$1,000,000 SB win
If 8 wins are not attained see you later, NEXT.

He is a good coach. Maybe not great but he is better then mediocre no doubt.

When did the Titians ever go out and get a FA stud? That is right they never signed any studs. How many studs did they let go because they wouldn't pay them? D.Mason, J.Kearse, J.Runyan, A.Hainsworth, S.McNair(so they could use a QB Fisher was against drafting). This guy had A WINNING RECORD DESPITE THE FACT THAT HIS OWNERSHIP SUCKED. Please stop with the overrated and mediocre remarks you only make yourselves out to be mediocre posters.

Also when the Titians were getting good they had to compete against a very good Jags team. Years after that they had to deal with Manning and his Colts. Don't forget the AFC was pretty strong as a whole during that time as well.

The leverage game hasn't taken a bizarre turn; in fact there is no leverage game. You're the only idiot claiming there is a leverage game despite all evidence to the contrary. A leverage game suggests he's going to sell himself to the highest bidder and is pitting the teams against each other. The only thing being reported is that that isn't happening. In fact, the only thing being reported is he isn't negotiating with either team. Furthermore, Schefter did not say there wasn't an offer--he said that Fisher wasn't negotiating with either team. Big difference. Maybe listen to the report next time.

Moreover, even if there isn't a firm offer on the table, that doesn't mean they haven't offered him the job. It seems pretty clear that both teams have offered him the job, regardless of whether they offered him a specific sum of money. Offering a job with financial details to be worked out later is not that unusual.

So there has been no bizarre turn and Schefter did not run with a "flimsy, illogical report." Instead, some jackass with a blog misunderstood what was being reported, imagined the details, and ran with a post that is more flimsy and illogical than anything Schefter ever reported.

"Rarely if ever does one man hold so much power over members of the one percent’s one percent."

I must admit that is a valid point. The more I think about it though, I'd like him to choose the Rams. I wouldn't mind seeing the Fins take the road less traveled (for once), and not necessarily the "safe" pick...

He's backing away from both because he's waiting on a call from Oakland.

Who would want to go to the Rams and Miami when they can get a high powered passing game, a top 5 RB and just needs some tweaks to be a playoff team in his first year in oakland and look like a hero?
