If Robert Kraft was a friend of Ross he would take him in a room and beat the crap out of him, why? because he is an embarrassment to other owners, there is a reason that old school money don’t invite you in just because you have money, all I need to know is who he hangs out with, guys like Bill Koch, and there buddy pink slips Romney. Fisher…WTF? I assume you’ve been to St. Louis and Miami in December? Heck, I assume you’ve been to St.Louis and Miami during anytime at all – and you pick St. Louis? Fishing, bikinis, beaches, pools, night life, golf, mansions, no taxes, versus the Gateway Arch, which is only great because it sort of gets you out of St. Louis. All I’d need is one look at the Dolphins’ cheerleaders and I’d take the job for $100, which isn’t much, but it’s all I can afford.

I think the majority of people out there believe it was leverage, but I’m curious why it hasn’t been mentioned that it wasn’t only Schefter out there that was reporting this. I tried posting it in the other thread yesterday, but it got deleted twice. Mike Silver, in his Yahoo Sports column, from this Tebow article on 1/9, argued the same exact thing – that it wasn’t leverage (and that specific contracts hadn’t been exchanged).

Just find it interesting that everything is directed towards Schefter when others reported similarly.

My hunch? It was leverage and it wasn’t. I have a hard time believing that Schefter and Silver would so stringently report on things with the way they worded it unless they received something specific. My guess is that Fisher took offers from both sides, and debated which situation was better. If at the same time, either party decided to upgrade their offer prior to Fisher making a request, then it leaves Fisher the out of saying that he didn’t try to leverage anything, but offers were improved. It’s leverage in the sense that one side could feel threatened and make a move to try and improve things, but it does leave Fisher that out. It’s also possible that no specific contracts were swapped, but rather general parameters were discussed on what it would take to accomplish things.

It’s a good decision for Fisher. If he buys Bradford, there’s some key young pieces in place, particularly with the two pass rushing ends. A good draft, and a good OC/QB coach, and they could improve awfully quick.
