Zimmer and Chudzinski are up next to meet with Bucs

Wade Phillips won’t interview with the Bucs, but Tampa still has a few more interviews left to complete as they search for a new head coach.

The Bucs received permission to talk to Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. That’s not a surprise because Zimmer has been connected to Tampa for a while.

A surprise new candidate is Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, who also met with the Rams. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that “Chud” will also meet with Tampa.

The Buccaneers started their search focusing on coaches with experience like Marty Schottenheimer and Mike Sherman. Their latest two interviews show they aren’t sold on hiring someone that attended the latest Fired Football Coaches Association convention in Tampa.

Chanice Kobolowski thinks Rob Chudzinski is hot.

If anyone deserves a head coaching gig its Chud. IMO hes the best coordinator in the league. This guy made Derek Anderson a pro bowler and Cam one of the best rookie QBs the NFL has ever seen. His play calling is inimitable.

Zimmer seem like a good fit. Bengals defense has been good/ underrated for a while. Chudzinski on the other hand has only been a coordinator for a year, so I don’t think he has quite the experience for the job.

Hire Zimmer!!! Hire Zimmer!!! Hire Zimmer!!!

Who cares about his foul language!!! That fan base needs something to get excited about!!!

Plus, he can show the Philadelphia Eagles why he should be their had coach instead of the publicly unfriendly and declining Andy Reid!!!!

Bengals fans better hope Zimmerman doesn’t get the job, that D was pitiful before he arrived a few years back. @das I don’t know how in the world you got that through but that’s awesome. They do over censor like a mug up here sometimes.

Hey DaveyJones, when you open your locker do you find more experience and success under Chudzinski’s belt than Raheem brought with him to the Glazer table?

    ZIMMER!!!

CHODzinski isn’t even worth the Buc’s time.

Zimmer has done a great job with the Bengals D and he would be a big loss to Cincinnati, but the guy has deserved a HC job for a while and Tampa would be a great fit. Zimmer has always gotten his guys on defense to play hard and no doubt he would demand effort and accountability from the Bucs players.

Mike Zimmer definitely deserve a shot. He’s been an excellent DC in the league for a while and should be strongly considered for any HC job.

Everybody in cincy wants zimmer to stay but we all know he has deserved a HC position. Whoever gets him should be pumped.

And to the guy that said hes been a coordinator for only a year…. check your facts.

What is this? I thought the Bucs only wanted an old, strict disciplinarian as their head coach. I guess the Bucs don’t want to hire a coach until February. That being said, either of these guys would be good hires.
My order on who I want the Bucs to get as their next head coach.

    1. Martyball 2. Zimmer 3. Chudsinski 4. Sherman
    5. Childress (As I’m getting ready to put the noose around my neck.)

Josh Freeman would be scary good with Chud
