Early signs for Ed Reed look promising

Cincinnati Bengals v Baltimore Ravens Getty Images

Ravens safety Ed Reed had to be carried off the field late in Sunday’s win over the Texans.

It looked ugly, but early indications are that Reed wasn’t seriously hurt. Coach John Harbaugh said Reed was “Okay” and the team suffered no serious injuries against Houston.

Reed did multiple post-game interviews and walked off the field without trainers nearby. He told reporters he rolled his ankle, but that he would be ready to go next week.

“We’re coming and they know it,” Reed said about the Patriots.

So Reed is already talking a little trash. He must be feeling pretty good.

Baltimore players could trash talk from a coma.

If the Ravens put Brady on his a$$ early, they can win. He’s a completely different QB when he’s hit and made to fill a little pain.

Trash talk all ya want Reed, but just remember who your QB is..have fun watching the SB from home.

Yeah, and the Patriots are totally frightened of your team’s inept offense. NOT!

Pats fan here. . . I was debating who I wanted to see win today, but I’m glad it’s the Ravens, and I hope Ed Reed is ok for Sunday.
If the Pats can win next week, it will be that much sweeter that it’s against the team that embarrassed them two years ago.

Don’t care about the trash talk, I’m just chomping at the bit for it to start. I hope it’s a close, competetive game, and I hope a clean game is called by the refs, I don’t want any team to have excuses after the final whistle.

    LET’S GO PATRIOTS!!!!

Ravens will win the trash talk contest. Good luck with that QB who will get no credit for todays win either. The last time they played, no Welker, no Hernandez and no Gronkowski.

  13. livingsacrifice86 says: Jan 15, 2012 5:32 PM

Since you and your 20-13 win over a third string qb has the pats scared. Come on man

  14. habsman says: Jan 15, 2012 5:39 PM

We all know the Ravens will win the talking game. But thats not the game that counts.

  15. icyhuckh20 says: Jan 15, 2012 5:40 PM

we know pats fans, that the win wasn’t pretty but flacco had a few drops ,but ur defense is not the texans,so the holes will open up for rice this week coming .this win was for ED REED BROTHER WHO PASSED AWAY LAST YEAR .LET’S GO RAVENS

  16. 6allsohard6more says: Jan 15, 2012 5:49 PM

Ravens don’t play to well when they are favorites ….you add the 2nd ranked defense and the 2nd ranked run game the Texans scared me…..Pats will be favorite ok Ravens match up good vs them and how many teams with a winning record did the Pats win this YEAR…Ravens are no broncos!!

  17. tyler200829 says: Jan 15, 2012 5:50 PM

Ohhh sorry, I forgot the patriots were flawless on both sides of the ball, come on now, that was the number one defense, now we move on to the number 32 defense, man were really scared. Remember what happened last time….

  18. stairwayto7 says: Jan 15, 2012 5:50 PM

Ravens back to AFC TITLE GAME! That means another loss! Pats 31 Ravens 13

  19. livingsacrifice86 says: Jan 15, 2012 6:39 PM

I remember LAST time. I’m pretty sure the pats won 23-20 in OT. Or are you talking about 2009? Without welker, gronk, Hernandez, branch….Having said that all, I think it will be a tight game

  20. smashmouthseven says: Jan 15, 2012 6:47 PM

You all know the patriots can’t beat the Ravens

Ravens offense isnt great and Patriots defense blows
So there you go Ray Rice all game

Just remember the last time they played what happened

  21. melikefootball says: Jan 15, 2012 7:11 PM

This is Reed and Ravens at their best, either crying about calls or looking hurt. They got another game of plying the bully and the refs can’t see it.

  22. phishfan520 says: Jan 15, 2012 7:40 PM

I hope the Ravens don’t beat em, nothing brings warmth to my heart like hearing Brady gloat all week and get beat in the SB!!! But if the Ravens do win, good for them

  23. number20pick6 says: Jan 15, 2012 9:21 PM

So, if welker, gronk, and Hernandez would have played in 2009 ray rice wouldn’t have had an 80 yd td on first play from scrimmage???

Yes, ravens offense is far from perfect, but so is pats d. Can’t wait to see Brady cry for flags

  24. pftcensorssuck says: Jan 15, 2012 9:25 PM

“We’re coming and they know it,” Reed said about the Patriots.
    ———————————————————
Brady dropped SIX touchdowns on what is supposed to be a solid Denver defense ………

The Raven’s barely squeaked out a win against the mighty C.J. Yates.

I’ll say the same thing I said about the Denver game; will Joe Flacco do better against the New England defense than Tom Brady does against the Ravens?

You tell ME who’s going to win.

  25. edgerules says: Jan 15, 2012 10:51 PM

Weren’t the Ravens 4-4 on the road this year? I mean, they didn’t light the world on fire this year on the road.

  26. j0esixpack says: Jan 15, 2012 10:56 PM

I think most Pats fans agree that Reed has earned the right to do a little trash talking… If he were smart he wouldn’t though.

  27. ralphtherealravenfan says: Jan 15, 2012 11:09 PM

Flacco this, Flacco that…5 dropped passes, 5 sacks, and no run game. Yet and still he threw 2 td’s and didn’t throw a pick against the #2 defense in the league. I’ll take that every week. Next week will be tough, but the Pats didn’t beat anybody with a winning record during the regular season. And yes, that’s significant. New England is stepping up in class when the play the Ravens. I think Pittsburgh set the blueprint on how to beat them. I do worry about Gronkowski though. But it’ll be a fun game to watch.

  28. dumdumdidday says: Jan 15, 2012 11:39 PM

Flacco is a mediocre QB. TJ yates – a rookie from the hotbed of QBs UNC was better. The Pats will destroy the Ravens, as a Texans fan Jacoby Jones and his stupidity cost us the game – we should have won that game

  29. sschmiggles says: Jan 16, 2012 1:58 AM

LOL. Ray Rice is going to run over our D? Isn’t that what Denver, the #1 ranked rushing offense said before they got dropped for 15 negative plays?

  30. sschmiggles says: Jan 16, 2012 1:59 AM

PS. Every team the Patriots played through Week 11 was .500 or above at the time they played them. So no, ralph, it isn’t significant. And you’ll find out for yourself on Sunday.

It was LAST YEAR, the Patriots WON!!

For all those who said Reed and Ray should sit down this game against the Texans should silence that. Anyone from Baltimore knows that Reed is not a trash talker. And I think we all hope he and Ray can win it this year so that they can retire on a high note.

Also Pats fans we respect Tom Brady he’s one of the best but what was your record this year against teams with a winning record? 0-2. So please stop saying this is going to be a terribly boring AFC championship game.

Let’s just play the game and enjoy it…..

Post five times last night my relief that Ed wasn’t seriously hurt because I enjoy watching his play. Each post was removed because Steelers fans aren’t allowed to post positive comments about Ravens players. Maybe a more professional moderator is working today and Coco the Chimp has gone home. We’ll know if this post stays up.

  34. homelanddefense says: Jan 16, 2012 1:16 PM

Gonna be a great game either way. But Im already starting to read comments by Ravens fan’s about the calls the Patriots get and how they play dirty.

What ever happened to winning and losing with dignity? If your team looses (not saying Baltimore is gonna lose) just congratulate the other team and move on. Suggs is already yapping…..

SO TJ Yates was better yesterday? Throwing 3 picks after having another 3 dropped in the first half was better than 2 TD’s to no picks? Flacco’s QB rating was 97 with his running back unable to go over 3 yards per carry. Yates was under 30 with his running back gashing the D every time he got the ball. Flacco had a very efficient solid game against a great D with constant pressure in his face and no running game at all, not to mention the dropped passes and Ray Rice getting stood up 3 plays in a row on the goal line.

All due respect to Yates, he looked good at times and you see the potential but he looked like a rookie and made major mistakes. Flacco didn’t look like a pro bowler but he looked like he belonged there and he lead his team to the win.
