Randy Mueller was on the Colts’ radar

It’s widely believed that the Colts had seven candidates for the G.M. job filled by former Eagles director of player personnel Ryan Grigson.

Per a league source, there was an eighth.

Former Saints and Dolphins G.M. Randy Mueller, who has been working with the Chargers’ front office, was on Colts owner Jim Irsay’s radar. And there’s a belief in some league circles that Mueller and Falcons director of player personnel Les Snead were the runners-up for the job that went to Grigson.

Coincidentally, the Titans had an interest in Mueller during Jeff Fisher’s tenure as head coach. Though the Dolphins at the time wouldn’t grant Tennessee permission to interview Mueller, that past connection possibly could put Mueller in play for the G.M. job in St. Louis.
