Five days ago, the Raiders fired coach Hue Jackson. Earlier today, Charley Casserly of CBS reported that the Raiders hope to make a “quick decision” on a replacement.

But with Packers assistant head coach/inside linebackers coach Winston Moss (pictured) and Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers believed to be on a list that’s expected to include only three or four candidates (Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles was interviewed Friday), a quick hire may not be impossible.

Neither Moss nor Capers may be interviewed or hired until the Packers’ season ends. (During the bye week after the end of the regular season, Moss and Philbin could have been interviewed -- and Philbin was, by the Dolphins. Neither man was interviewed by the Raiders during the bye week because Hue Jackson had yet to be fired.)

Of course, Giants fans would say right now that both men will be free and clear by 8:00 p.m. ET tonight.

UPDATE 2:37 p.m. ET: League spokesman Greg Aiello tells PFT that, in the week after the conference title games and before the Pro Bowl, assistant coaches from the Super Bowl teams may participate in second interviews. This means that if the assistant was interviewed by a team at some point before that week, he can be interviewed a second time. Thus, Joe Philbin could be interviewed for a second time by the Dolphins. Philbin and Moss will not be available for a first interview with the Raiders.
