Lately, the Vikings had been taking a page out of the Dolphins’ playbook, interviewing candidates for a job that was not yet vacant.

On Friday morning, the Vikings finally did the right thing, removing the title of defensive coordinator from veteran assistant coach Fred Pagac, according to Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Per Fowler, the Vikings offered to Pagac an opportunity to return to the position of linebackers coach, a job he held from 2006 through 2010.

And this would suggest that linebackers coach Mike Singletary is in line to become the defensive coordinator, unless the Vikings know Pagac won’t accept the demotion.
