The inherent problem that I see with Tebow is that he excels in an option offense. One of the reasons that this offense was all but abandoned in the NFL was because if you get behind, it becomes somewhere between difficult and impossible to catch up.

Teams will learn quickly to gun it early and get ahead, then the Broncos will founder as they have no real way of catching up.

I know that people like to mention the Steelers game as proof otherwise, but lets remember that the Steelers were giving them the pass, so he wasn’t throwing into consistent hard coverages. Also how many times did we see the Steelers standing flat footed trying to contain him, meaning that it didn’t look like they were putting alot of pressure on him.

The pats and one of the worst defenses in the league (without their best pass rusher) were able to just have their way with the Broncos because of the pressure and coverage. Not so good for the Broncos.

Still it will be fun to watch and see what happens.

He is ranked dead last in passing yards per game and completion percentage. He is actually the worst passing QB in the NFL. Good luck with him. Those of us who hate the Broncos are more than happy that Teblow is your QB.

And you dismiss that they led in rushing attempts while finishing only 6th in yp/carry. Take Orton away and they would be the clearer leader in attempts. Couple this with that fact that McGahee is a great back and Tebow is so bad at passing that they rarely let him try and you find why they led in rushing.

Yeah, so y/carry are brought down a little by the 471 yards on 112 rushing attempts (4.2 y/carry) with Orton at QB…and they were 25th in the NFL a that time. After Tebow became the starter the team rushed for 2161 yards on 434 carries. (5.0 y/carry…4th in the NFL).

By the way, it may be relevant to point out the 190.4 ypg over its last 12 games—is the most productive 12-game rushing stretch in team history.

@hedleykow, you must not watch much football because there are a lot of QBs I’ve seen worse than Tebow. Tebow is sub-par but compared to the like of Ryan Leaf and some of the other true loses that have been drafted over the years Tebow is ok.

I believe most baseball pitchers and some basketball players know this

I dislike referring to Tebow-nonsupporters as “Haters” but when you twist stats to fit your opinion of him as a “BUST” (after only playing 16 games over two seasons as a starter) you lose all credibility.

Orton made his living of 3-5yrd passes repeatedly falling short of first downs. Defenses gladly gave him the underneath stuff that resulted in 3-and-outs and red zone FG’s.

Certainly, credit is due for the Bronco’s getting there in the first place, but they were definitely shown up by the 31st rank D in the league…so things certainly have to change.

Good luck to him, I suppose, not a huge fan of the media hype surrounding him, but that’s not really his fault…the media’s always looking for the angle that gets the most attention.
