They should have started Flynn. So do you think they’ll try to trade Rodgers? Could probably get a first round pick for him.

You can ignore thankheavenfornumberseven. The "seven" refers to TJack, er, or is it Christian Ponder? I forget.

He's just a frustrated viking fan who's giddy because the vikes finally won their "superbowl" - that is, the Packers getting knocked out of the playoffs. They have nothing else to cheer for up there.

sorry rodgers but i disagree. onside kick in the second quarter? dropped balls, wide open missed passes. sure the giants played much better but if you watched the niners saints game, they were much more disciplined. the saints didnt even get one flag the whole game. and the niners won. this shows what type of football they were both playing. I think the giants are going to get stomped at the stick. sorry.

Not sure it was rust that did the Pack in as much as it was loss of focus and entitlement. They looked too far down the tracks instead of at the train right in front of them. And after the 15-1 season they had they probably thought they could win that game (and the next one) by just showing up. Unfortunately for them and their fans, they didn't even do that.

I seriously do not get you packer fans right now. Its coming down to ” well if we played a series we would have won” explination now? so we should change the best playoff format in sports to make packer fans happy. not for nothing when you get beaten by 17 at home, youve just been schooled. Period

Do not generalize and lump us all together. Any level headed fan will tell you we plain out got dominated in every part of the game. There are "fans" that make ridiculous statements on all teams.

I don't understand all the comments stating the Packer offense really didn't play all that badly. Weren't they the ones who had four turnovers? Weren't they the ones dropping the passes? Weren't they the ones missing wide open receivers?

If it weren't for two atrocious officiating calls that kept their two scoring drives alive, that offense would have accounted for just 6 points.

A lot of the comments on this article are pretty ignorant. It goes to show that fans who root for loser teams hate the ones who have success. All I can say is you doubters and haters better get used to doubting and hating. Green Bay has a ton of talent under contract on that team. If they manage to get a few good players in key spots in the off-season, you’ll all be whining again next year. It is almost funny when you think about how mad people get about the Packers. Then, if you think a little more, it is sad to think of the misery some of you must go through year after year forcing yourselves to watch your teams fail.

----------------------------------------------

People don't hate the Packers because of their success. It's because of their arrogant fans, perfectly displayed by you above. Everyone's just giving back a little of what they received from people like you.

And you're obviously too young to have witnessed the over a quarter century of failure by your Packers before the arrival of Wolfe, Favre and White in the 90s.

Wow Packer fans are really being little bi**ches right now! Seriously, you guys got your a$$ handed to you on a platter with cheese.

How come there is no story about Referee Bill Leavy trying to save the Packers? I think he is a Packers fan or had money on the game. He tried to bail out the Packers twice. It was a fumble and it was NOT roughing the passer!

Sorry Packer fans, your stock value has dropped. The market has crashed ... sell sell sell! hahahahhaha

Bye bye! Retire Driver ... you stink!

I'm a hard-core old-time Packer fan and I have no intention to play any manner of the "what if?" game. The Giants beat the Packers and did it handily. The SuperBowl victory last year was unexpected and a lot of fun. The most painful thing about this year is that I had expectations, when last year I did not. Congratulations to the Giants and their fans. I have always had fun with visiting Giant fans. No problems there. Thank God I kind of like them...it makes it a little easier to bear. Good luck.

They lost their second game in 17 NFL contests and we are overrated, lucky and apparently the entire officiating crew got together and decided to give the Packers the benefit of the doubt in every game they play. This was the best team in football-hands down- in the NFL for the first 17 weeks and then they lost one at of course the worst possible time of the year . Rodgers tells everyone they lost fair and square , McCarthy says no excuses but it's not good enough for the waterheads that make dumb ass comments without knowing crap about football. They have some work ahead of them like a lot of teams. One more thing, if you're a Viking fan,Lion fan or Bear fan trying to defend your teams, just remember you were swept and dominated by this lucky team this year.
Im stunned to see all the "start Matt Flynn" comments. Aaron Rodgers is the reason that team was even playing in that game. The Packers had no run game all year and a horrible defense to go along with shaky offensive line play.

The Giants were a bad matchup for a team built like that. the Giants knew it and they executed to perfection. No one on that team had any chance of slowing down Victor Cruz or Hakeen Nicks. That absurd Hail Mary catch summed up the Packers defense in a nut shell.

Just because Matt Flynn put up an awesome stat line against a pass defense equally as bad as the Packers in Detroit does not make him a great QB. It is absurd to put him in the same class as Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers didnt have his best game. But how many of those passes were dropped? Greg Jennings had a few brutal ones in particular. He needed everyone to bring their A game to beat a team that truly had no fear of them. How many Eli Manning passes were dropped? Hardly one. Aaron Rodgers is what got them there. That team goes 8-8 without him

The loss was almost exactly the same as the KC loss -AR was a touch off, the receivers dropped to many balls that would have extended drives, the Giants played good and the defence gave up too many big plays. The only thing that was worse than the KC game was the high numbers of turnovers.

The Packers regular season record was better than they actually played and they didnt play their best game when they needed to. Season over - still proud of them - it has been quite a run. Woulda like to have seen them host San Fran - too bad so sad.

The offense that Rodgers and the Packers run is based on timing (until he has to scramble) and the front 7 disrupted that timing while the DBs had good coverage. That is essentially why the Giants won. They were better prepared, matched up well against the Packers and they showed a bit more desire to win the game. The Giants are a hot team and the Packers were outplayed.

Exactly correct and once again Jennings went out with another injury. + Lack of a sustained run game and a flat out lack of anything on defense = GMen win Big. For as bad as the offense played the general play of the Defense all year has made me sick. Capers just could not flat out admit that we couldnt rush and he insisted on bringing 6 and leaving the umbrella coverage which Eli shredded. I cannot stand Capers I hope Oakland take him. He is an awful DCoordinator when his gameplan fails. Flat out awful.

As a Packer fan i did say to friends the GMen are the only team in the NFC that could beat them at Lambeau and they did.

Clearly, they should not have started Flynn. You ALWAYS go with your number one guy, nevertheless, I was wondering why they did not at least give Flynn a shot when it was clear that Rogers was not clicking on all cylinders. It was do or die time, and they just chose to die.

Call it rust, or flat (I prefer this), there was no doubt they looked flat. Still, the Giants took full, and decisive advantage, and you have to give them all the credit they are due. I do appreciate that Rogers did not make any excuses.

Disclaimer....Vikings Fan hers and I hate the Packers, I really hate the Packers.

But you have to respect Rodgers. I see it as him basically not wanting to deflect credit from the Giants. It's obvious that they didn't play near to their best game, translated as their recievers couldn't catch a ball any better than a Vikings DB.... hands without fingers. They also showed that their defense is non existent which was covered up all season because they scored every time they touched the ball except on Sunday.

However, instead of shifting the focus to anything else he is willing to stay put and give credit the Giants for their effort.

Have to say, I hate the Packers but it's hard not to respect this guy in a period of time where the NFL and media gives 90% of its attention to the few poor character, over talented, self focused, media attention grabbing, blow-hards.

The Lions beat the Pack or at least helped the Giants. Rodgers and the coaching staff knew that VandenBosch and Suh were out to hurt him. That's why they rested on Game 15. Scared. They'll see him next year.
Thumbs up to the G Men and go Lions.

The sad thing is that the packers defense dednot look rusty. I for one agree with the onside kick in the first half . Whay the heck should he trust that defense?

I'm a packer fan and the abuse packer fan is getting is well deserved on these forums. Most of the comments from dumb front runner 1 year packer fans have been straight out arrogant and classes !

Noe from a real packer fan. Gaints beat the pack in all 3 parts of the game. Giants were better period.

On a side note I do get a kick out of lions fan saying see see packers buy the officals. Shut up dome team !

congrats giants epic ass kicking. As a packer fan the only good thing to come out of this game is to get rid of these bandwagon loud mouth front running wanna be packer fans !! and take aj hawk with you

Listen to all of you experts talking about playing rusty in the National Football League, as if any of you have any idea what its like.

I'm glad that rodgers isn't using it as an excuse, but truth be told, rust obviously played a factor amongst that entire offense. They haven't lost a fumble since WEEK 5! If that's not a sign, then I don't know what is.

Hopefully they and future #1 seeds take note of this and stop resting players in week 17. It's just not worth it. You're paid to play 16 games a year, so you should play all of them if you're healthy. Unfortunatly, nobody will learn from this and next year, whether its the packers, saints, or whoever, they'll continue to rest their players when things are locked up by the season finale.
