APBears special teams coordinator Dave Toub isn’t leaving Chicago.
Toub has signed a two-year contract extension, the team announced today.
Well-respected around the league as one of the NFL’s top special-teams coaches, Toub was a candidate for the head-coaching vacancy in Miami. There was also talk that Toub, whose contract ran out at the end of the 2011 season, might take a job as an assistant elsewhere. But now he’s staying put.
The 49-year-old Toub has been the special teams coordinator in Chicago since 2004. Prior to that he spent three years on the Eagles’ staff.

Good coach. Good move for the Bears!
Da Bears’ next Head Coach!
Yippie. We’ve got that going for us.
YES!!!!!! The only good coach the Bears have!
Is the new GM going to be able to choose any of the coaches? Toub is a great coach to re-sign, but it is going to be harder to find a good GM the more coaches that get signed.
Great decision by the Bears but who is making these decisions w/o a GM? I know Lovie has control of his staff but contract work and other things that go into it?
Take him off the Miami list please.
Super decision, Great coach. The Bears have had the best special teams in the league for quite a while now. Isn’t this the reason for the New, and lame, kickoff rules… The Devin Hester rule.
Pretty clear ass-hat Ruskell will get promoted.
