Viking news is so much more pleasant to read now that the bandwagon Packer trolls have gone into hibernation.

Funny how the only Viking news that’s been present since the Vikings and their bandwagon full of pigtailed cross-dressers went into hibernation back in week 4 has been:

1) The team’s new stadium deal…or lackthereof. No one’s sure yet.

2) The team’s coaching question marks/debacle.

3) Whether one of their 2 quality players on the roster will ever be healthy enough to play again, better yet, even open up the season next year.

Enjoy the nice cool and damp basement of the NFC North for the next decade….unless you get re-aligned to the NFC West.

Now back to your tip-ups…there’s probably a fish on, and we’d hate to see you have to cough up any more of that MN state unemployment insurance money to the DNR for unattended lines in the water….and don’t eat the bait. I know you’re tempted.

You are getting very specific with your insults....these situations come to you from experiance then I take it?

For those asking: if a coach is under contract, he must get the permission of his employer to interview for a position with another team. Some franchises will grant permission, some will under certain conditions (e.g., must be a step up on the ladder, not a lateral move, or not within the division), and some franchises will not allow their employees to interview period. (Hello, Tampa Bay!) So this situation, while not unheard of, is still a little unusual.

I am conflicted by this story. I typically feel that everyone should be allowed to improve their position -- in other words, if they are being offered a chance to take a step up the ladder with a different franchise, permission should be granted.

In this case, though, I can't really fault the Bears for refusing permission: the request came from an in-conference competitor, and it didn't sound likely to me that Hoke was ultimately going to be the choice. The whole thing sounds more like an attempt to get information on the Bears' schemes, plans, and internal chain of command. If I were the Bears, I would have said no to the Vikes, as well -- and would have said yes to the Eagles last year when they sought to interview Tice.

It's a bush-league move by the Bears, but that should come as no surprise. Then again, Frazier's never-ending attempt to find a coordinator still using the Tampa-2 is limiting his options. Interesting responses from the usual Packer trolls above, who now have nothing better to do than beat down on the Vikes and their fans after witnessing a classic choke-job and booing their team off the field last Sunday (yeah, great loyal fans).

You find it "pleasant" to read your team is having coach 'turn-over' for dessert? That your team STILL has no stadium? That your team has no QB even if had a stadium to showcase him in?

That we will soon be looking at endless Super Bowl stories-many of which will detail the Vikings futility at winning the Lombardi Trophy?

All I can say is---enjoy!

Funny how the only Viking news that's been present since the Vikings and their bandwagon full of pigtailed cross-dressers went into hibernation back in week 4 has been:

1) The team's new stadium deal...or lackthereof. No one's sure yet.

2) The team's coaching question marks/debacle.

3) Whether one of their 2 quality players on the roster will ever be healthy enough to play again, better yet, even open up the season next year.

Enjoy the nice cool and damp basement of the NFC North for the next decade....unless you get re-aligned to the NFC West.

Now back to your tip-ups...there's probably a fish on, and we'd hate to see you have to cough up any more of that MN state unemployment insurance money to the DNR for unattended lines in the water....and don't eat the bait. I know you're tempted.

It is rather unfortunate that position coaches on a club are denied an opportunity to interview for a coordinator's slot with another franchise because that position definitely is a step up and another rung in the ladder closer to a potential head coaching job.

Ironically, the NFL is one of the few businesses in America that has legislated against advancement and promotions.

Wonder how many labor lawsuits other businesses would be facing if they operated the same way?

Unfortunately, assistant coaches basically have no rights.
