I like that McKenzie is exploring his options, the two that I still like the best is Carmichael Jr and Winston Moss with me leading more toward Carmichael Jr. Reason being is that he has coordinated arguably one of the best offenses in the league for the last few years. Granted Palmer is not a Drew Brees, but I believe he could still find success with Palmer under center and Palmer can make the throws necessary to succeed in his system. Also with Run DMC (when healthy) and Michael Bush at his arsenal to play with, Oakland's options could go further then Hue could've ever acheived. Don't forget about the speedy receivers as well, they are up and coming (Moore, Ford, Heyward-Bey - now that he is catching the football) have the potential to be great with the spread the ball mentality he could bring to the table with creative formations and taking advantage of every players strengths

On the other side of the table Moss is coaching one of the best linebacking crew in football with Matthews, Hawk etc. Let's face it, defense is where the Raiders need the most improvement on and some innovative thinking at the linebacking crew is something he can sure touch base on with Wimbley and McClain helping the motion behind the the trenches. Oakland's defense has potential with their personnel I just think the state of mind was not in the right place. The one thing that needs to be worked on for sure is the secondary so they don't get blown out as soon as the ball snaps and get burnt with big plays. Take care of these and Oakland could be a powerhouse in the AFC.

With that being said, I like the fact the McKenzie is taking his time to explore his options and try to find the best fit possible for this organization and bring it out of the hole they have dug themselves into the past 9 seasons. Good luck Reg, get us another 4th round sleeper in the draft like our receivers have turned out to be.

Like I said when McKenzie fired Hue Jackson who actually looked like a bright young up and coming coach, you’re not about to become Packers West, more like Bengals or Buccaneers WEst.

The one thing that continuously resonated in that press conference was “young and cheap,” which translates into we’re going to go against everything that Al Davis stood for, which made that toilet bowl franchise worth rooting for in an age where larger markets dominate the landscape.

Good luck Raider fans, you thought Al’s last 10 years were bad, I see 0-16 in your near future before bowl cut finally sells the team to some L.A. investor.
=====================
Jackson ran his stupid mouth, the team never defined itself and shouldve blown out a lot of teams that had no business still being in the game by the fourth quarter. Everybody knows it, and that "toilet bowl" franchise won for 16 years. McKenzie's going to do it the right way, the way it shouldve been changed to following 2003 .

I see a Raider a&% kicking coming when we play whatever team you cheer for, bandwagoner.

Back to the story.

I think this may be Madden's suggestion, because he was a real Andy Reid fan. What McKenzie appears to be doing is casting a wider net, to see what moves other staffs will be making when the coaching turnover begins. - Combine is coming soon, but its clear he will be managing the personnel moves.

I still think its down to Moss or Bowles (he is up for a 2nd interview)

Hue was an up and coming head coach...offensive X's & O's was his thing. Health/injuries and a pottie mouth did him in. So far i'm not impressed with the list, however, coach Carmichael Jr would be an upgrade over Hue.

Do the smart thing Mckensie hire an offensive guru like C Jr. as your head coach. The bigger decision lies on a choice for D cord.

The same formula worked wonders on our side of the bay! Go Niners!

The guy has been on the job a week and it's taking too long???? WTF???? Usually when the Raiders fire a coach, the process doesn't even start this soon.

I like what McKenzie is doing. He's interviewing all the candidates first, before most even get a shot. People in the NFL know that things are different in Oakland now which makes it a more attractive place. I can't remember when Al even had this many to choose from because of his rep as an owner. Also, every candidate knows he get's to pick his "own" staff. As a prospective coach in the NFL, you gotta love that one.

And for those of you talking about "no" draft picks, the Raiders have 38 players on their current roster with 6 years or less of NFL experience. This is not a team that has to be made over to the astute observer. It just needs to be tweaked. At one time this team was littered with #1 draft picks and they couldn't bust a grape in a food fight!! The players who are producing most and showing the most promise are low picks. Can anyone remember what college Veldheer went too?? I think a division 3 school. Look how he's turning out. With the exception of DHB, all our receivers are round 3 or lower. If Al was indeed in charge of the draft, up until his dying day, he still made more good picks than bad. He just wasn't very good with that 1st pick, that's all. And that one costs the most money.

Personally, I'm glad the Raiders don't have another #1 pick because now we can't blow it. Real homework has to be done in the later rounds. That's what I love about the NFL draft, you never know where you will find the next star!!!! More times than not, it's not the 1st round!!!

Keep grinding McKenzie.......

Why not check Marty out? If he can do for Run DMC what he's done for Shady, I'm not opposed to a look see.

Reg McK is checking everybody out. And why not, wouldn't you want to explore every option?

But he should do it a little quicker before all of them are snatched up.

Like I said when McKenzie fired Hue Jackson who actually looked like a bright young up and coming coach, you're not about to become Packers West, more like Bengals or Buccaneers WEst.

The one thing that continuously resonated in that press conference was "young and cheap," which translates into we're going to go against everything that Al Davis stood for, which made that toilet bowl franchise worth rooting for in an age where larger markets dominate the landscape.

Good luck Raider fans, you thought Al's last 10 years were bad, I see 0-16 in your near future before bowl cut finally sells the team to some L.A. investor.
