Gregs D wasn’t ever that good to begin with. His style leaves the DBs 10-15 yards off the ball almost every play! His over use of the blitz showed the backfield was thin and the linerbackers except for Dunbar and Vilma are more of back ups. We needed a better D and thank god we can start with a new for 2012! I am glad he is gone, now lets focus on getting Drew, Colston and Nicks signed for at least 3 years! Hopefully Drew will realize he has more then enough money to spend in a lifetime and winning championships is more important then a few extra million per year.

The Saints are 16-8 on the road over the last three years. Best in the NFL. Their road record during Sean Payton’s tenure is also the best in the NFL over that 6-year span.

would be a good hire…some head coaches who were fired like spags aren’t meant to be head coaches, but are meant to be very good coordinators…same with nolan in atlanta…a good defensive coach, but sucks as a head coach

I really don’t have a problem with Castillo staying. Give him a full off season to do his thing and lets see how it turns out next year. If it flops again, then there is no reason to keep him around. Andy will be gone too and the new coach will bring in his own staff.
As far as Vick goes, who do they have that’s better? That’s the problem there. They have nobody adequate to replace him, and these retread backup types that will be available in free agency aren’t the answer. I guess they can always bring McNabb back for one last shot at it

As a life long Eagles fan, I am sticking with Juan. Crazy talk I know, but Juan deserves a full offseason to work with the defense. He has a season under his belt as DC, and the defense played MUCH better in the lat half of the season.

A full offseason of practicing under Juan’s system. New faces will no longer be new faces but teammates that have worked together and gelled over the last season. Hopefully he plays his DBs to their strength though… Nnamdi is a man coverage guy, not zone. Asanti is a zone guy, not man… but Asanti will most likely be gone so that is a mute issue.

So Spags, thanks but no thanks.

If anyone needs to leave the Eagles, it is Vick. He brings a lot to the table, but one of those things is 2-4 missed games a year with great potential for season/career ending injury. Not sure I would be willing to trade the draft for Luck like Ditka did for Ricky Williams… but a move up for RGIII without trading away the entire draft would be interesting. But I really doubt that will happen.

I don’t see where he is that great. His D was bottom of the barrel all three years with the Rams. Jim Johnson was the innovator Spags the linebacker coach. He had a 6 game run with a great Giant D line and not much else. More rep then results.

Spags would be nuts to hitch his wagon to Andy Reid right now – no DC with options would be that stupid. Chances are Philly moves on from Reid and his staff in a year or two, where the Saints should be stable for the next few years.

Looks like Andy Reid dragging his feet is about to pay off. He is going to make the cb coach a scapegoat for 4 4th quarter blown leads. If even an average DC had been hired this year, the giants would not have made the playoffs this season. So Andy will come into next season with the same exact staff and tell everyone that things will somehow get better, even though they are the same. Not hiring spagnuolo on day one was the biggest mistake he could have made.

Spags got hurt by injuries last year and a
new offense. I think he learned what it takes and what not to get hung up with, ie new equipment mgr., remodeling the locker room,etc. he is a good coach but, should not be concerned with the color of the drapes. Good luck where ever u go, don’t get diluted
But delegate the no coaching details.
