Broncos promote Matt Russell

With plenty of firings happening through the league this month, there are also plenty of promotions.

One such move has come in Denver, where Matt Russell was promoted to the position of director of player personnel.

“Matt’s energy and passion for his work have earned him a tremendous amount of respect from those inside our organization,” V.P. of football operation John Elway said in a team-issued release. “His leadership and evaluation skills make him the perfect fit to oversee the player personnel departments.”

Russell, who won the Butkus Award at the University of Colorado, joined the Broncos in 2009 after tours with the Patriots and Eagles.  But he’s perhaps best known in these parts for being blown up by eventual first-round tackle Nate Solder during Solder’s Pro Day workout last year.

burntorange, I really think you have a serious mancrush on Tebow. No where in this article is his name mentioned-they’re even just talking about the defensive side of the ball.
