Dez Bryant’s Miami brouhaha may have involved Lil Wayne

AP

On Monday, word emerged that Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant had been detained by police following a fight at a Miami nightclub.  Because Bryant was neither arrested nor charged, the story seemed destined to fade away.

Bryant’s mentor, David Wells, has told WFAA-TV that Bryant “got involved in a verbal altercation with some members of a famous rapper’s entourage and had to be detained by police.”

And those two words — “famous rapper” — have given the story new life.

According to the Miami New Times, via NBCDFW.com, the “famous rapper” may have been Lil Wayne (pictured).

Though it’s unknown where this story will go from here, it’s safe to say that Todd Haley won’t be rejoining the Cowboys as receivers coach.

  1. an NFL player who behaves like a punk and a rapper who is a punk causing problems at a night club? Never happens!

  2. “I’ll have people from my entourage exchange bullets with people from your entourage in the morning.”.

  3. Lil Wayne is a double threat. He’s released several terrible rap albums and also released an awful rock album in 2010.

  4. I heard the fight started when Mr. Lil told Dez to start playing like a 1st round pick. Dez then told him to start making music like an actual musician.

  5. “I’ll have people from my entourage contact people from your entourage soon. So they can exchange insults, threats, and bullets.”.

  6. This guy sucks. (Wayne, not Dez. Dez is a supremely talented player that just needs to get his head straight)

  7. I can see why the Patriots passed on Bryant during the draft. Talented, but a trouble maker!

  8. These guys really lift our society up to new levels of greatness.
Rosy O’Donnell is a hot babe.

WARNING!! Do not hold breath while waiting.

  10. lol, never good to hang around a dude that’s close to 30 and still calls himself “Lil”.

Not to mention the fact that he went to jail for felony weapons charges.

You watching Cowgirls fans? This is how it starts. A simple argument between entourages.

  11. A nightclub altercation and no pacman jones, I have to axe the question what is they world comin to?

  12. Every time I see a story like this it reminds me of a scene from the kids movie, ‘Cars’ where the veteran car approaches the hot young rookie and says, “Great race kid. You have more talent in one lug nut than most cars have in their entire chassis… but you’re stupid”.

If Dez Bryant was a car, this would be meant for him.

  13. Your “sources with knowledge of the situation” should have told you who he was fighting with. Too bad Drew doesn’t represent Lil’ Wayne too. He could set up a cage match between the two.

  14. Maybe Lil Wayne said something bad about Dez Bryant when he was a guest panelist on “Around The Horn”.

    Yes that actually happened.

  15. rappers aint gangstaz lil wayne is a migit he doesnt want it with dez bryant. lil wayne just talks tough and walks away when things gets rough

gayest thing ive ever heard !!

  17. Here’s what happened… Brandon Marshall got into a fight with his wife, she came at him with a knife, he ran an “out” route, slipped on a McDonald’s bag and fell into Lil Wayne’s possy and knocked over the Cristal just as Dez was walking by. Dez tried to catch it but dropped it and the fight ensued. At least nobody got shot and killed this time. RIP Darrent Williams

    Demaryius Thomas > Dez Bryant
    ——————————————————
    I think not.

    Thomas: 21 games played, 54 receptions,834 yrds, 6 TD’S

    Bryant: 27 games played, 108 receptions,1489
    yrds, 15 TD’S

  19. Man Dez Bryant has a chance to make his families future generations comfortable…@ least middle class…but mistakes like this and he.will end up having his fortune taken right back where it came from. These guys have got to be smarter ( or get better advisors) than this.

  20. dez does what he wants because he has never respected anyone who has tried to change him….. hes never had that person in his life that can change him…i think deep down hes a good guy… but know one gets him so you turn on him…..easy and lazy thing to do….hope the guy finds someone who can reach him and understand him……all the money in the world wont get this man what he is looking for….

Thomas has better ypc average, 2 100-yard games and a 200 yard game vs 1 100 yard game for Bryant. Can’t think of a single game Bryant dominated. Thomas abused both the Vikings in the regular season and destroyed Ike Taylor and Polomalu in the playoffs!

Point is who would you rather have? A headcase that gets tired and disappears in the second half or the guy that overcomes injuries and catches game-winning touchdown?

  23. Plaxico could have stopped it immediately just by showing up in jogging pants sporting a bulge.

  24. I love it when you guys attack rich black males but you have the rich white guys who have their own set of issues with sex, drugs, and rock and roll with a sense of intitlement and you praise them ; so make me understand the difference except for color!!! Last but not least his music is great to all peaple and incase you didn’t know has a message for all people just like a lot of white artist,he uses mediphores and they tell a story just like country music or easey listening music its no different except whose saying it or doing it a black man or a white man and as a country we need to grow up and stop being bigots. All people with money have big ego’s and do stupid things!

Yeah they’ll just wait a couple of years until he gets cut for being a nuisance so they can pick him up for $3 mil a year.

  26. Dez is definitely a better receiver than Demaryius Thomas. But Bryants attitude and work ethic are questionable. I believe if Dez spent the entire off season training he would be a force and probably loose the injury bug he seems to have. Id take my chances with Dez>Thomas, just because Thomas seems to be injury plaiged, with less talent.

Your punctuation, and spelling is simply horrible. As a black man myself, I am embarrassed for you. Please proofread your work before submitting. You just come off as stupid.
