The giants teams have been luckiest is NFL history. I mean c’mon…craig fumbles when the niners had it wrapped up…then wide right… Then the helmet catch.
Really the only season when it was definitive was 1986. Giants really could have only 1 super bowl title

There in the worst division in football and need to muddy a field or have the Ref”s help (like 2003)to have a chance to win.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the worst division in the NFL this season was the AFC South (38 losses), with the AFC North being the best (27 losses). NFC West was in the middle of the pack (two at 31 losses, one at 33 losses, two more at 34 losses), hardly the worst division.

That won’t affect the dominance of the Niner defense. Also remember that Alex Smith will be much more comfortable having been in one system for more than a year, plus all the young Niner guys will be that much more seasoned. It’s a two-way street, jake. The Niners will also improve next season, given the fact that most of their players still haven’t hit their prime yet.

First off…the coach of the 49ers makes me feel so damn old because it was just like yesterday when ‘Captain Comeback’ had the Colts within an Aaron Baily dropped endzone pass of the Super Bowl.

Secondly, the media generated spin of how the 9ers are going to be a dynasty is so premature. One playoff game does not a dynasty make. Believe me, now that the rest of the NFC West seems to be getting better, this team will be in for a dogfight yearly. Alex Smith is not a championship QB….San Fran fans know it deep down in their bones. Granted he has had a different OC for each of his NFL seasons, he has not proven that he can be the reason why the team wins.

The Giants will win this game, but the future is bright for the 49ers. Just get a real QB and that would be a start.

i read an article a few years ago where roger craig said that the niners would be a very good team very soon. he was right and i was with him on that one. this defense has been here for years now. they just took it to another level this year. but…can we please focus on the GIANTS for now? and IF we win, then focus on winning #6, then MAYBE we can talk about building a dynasty. im a die hard niners fan and have suffered through tough years the last nine but lets not get ahead of ourselves. lets focus on today, tomorrow, the giants and winning…
