Bears running back Matt Forte told PFT Live in an interview taped Wednesday afternoon, aired earlier today, and pasted below that he plans to play in the Pro Bowl if he passes a physical.

The Bears have announced that Forte has passed a physical.

Thus, this apparently means Forte will play in the Pro Bowl.

Forte sprained an MCL against the Chiefs in December, missing the final four games of the regular season, and in hindsight dooming the team’s shot at the playoffs.

It’s a risky move for Forte, who is due to be a free agent in March. If he suffers another injury, his value will likely drop.

For now, it appears that the Bears will apply the franchise tag to Forte, which will limit his options. He addressed that possibility and other issues on PFT Live.
