Haley not expected to join Cardinals

Since losing his gig with the Chiefs, Todd Haley has been connected to possible jobs in New York and Arizona.

A report surfaced this week Haley was unlikely to join the Jets. Now Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic writes that a Cardinals reunion is unlikely too.

Talks between Haley and the Cardinals have been “amicable” but there may not be a role for Haley. Ken Whisenhunt does not want to demote offensive coordinator Mike Miller. That leaves the quarterbacks coach job open, which may not be enough responsibility for Haley at this stage of his career.

The Cardinals are interviewing two potential quarterbacks coaches this week. There are still a lot of head coaching vacancies open, which means there are many more coordinator positions to fill. Haley will presumably target those jobs.

Not a surprise considering he isn’t a very good coach

We don’t want you back Haley, your loss for leaving for a job that was a deadend from the beginning

I could see Haley replacing Arians in Pittsburgh.

It would be a reasonable assumption that most of the teams in the league would want to know the truth behind his recent comments concerning the Chiefs, prior to making any contact with this man.

Toning down the crazy wouldn’t hurt, either.

I’m not a Cardinal fan, but from an outsiders perspective…why do loyal to Miller? The offense has not been nearly as good as when Haley was the OC there. Does Whisenhunt really want to go down with Miller? At least make Haley assistant head coach/QB Coach. Or didn’t Dallas have co-offensive coordinators with Payton and Sparano a few years back. Cardinals need to bring Hale nmbac before its too late to properly develop Bradford.

Not surprised. I figured he would already be with the Cards by now if he was returning.

I could see Zimmer tabbing him if he gets a head coaching job….

I guess it never crossed my mind when he was still coach. I was just thinking, if Haley was only the coach at KC for three seasons, why was he always wearing this dirty ten year old baseball hat on the sidelines? Did he find it under the bleachers at Arrowhead?

Haley will make an excellent QB coach signed and endorsed by: Tyler Palko!!

Yeah, he’d be perfect to ruin and 2nd guess an up and coming QB like Skelton.

Kolb’s days are numbered as the starter in Arizona, John Skelton is the real deal. I dont care how much that dude is paid.

Can you tell Haley to ‘speak into the light’ – I couldn’t quite pick up what he just said a minute ago…
