Since losing his gig with the Chiefs, Todd Haley has been connected to possible jobs in New York and Arizona.

A report surfaced this week Haley was unlikely to join the Jets. Now Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic writes that a Cardinals reunion is unlikely too.

Talks between Haley and the Cardinals have been “amicable” but there may not be a role for Haley. Ken Whisenhunt does not want to demote offensive coordinator Mike Miller. That leaves the quarterbacks coach job open, which may not be enough responsibility for Haley at this stage of his career.

The Cardinals are interviewing two potential quarterbacks coaches this week. There are still a lot of head coaching vacancies open, which means there are many more coordinator positions to fill. Haley will presumably target those jobs.
