And don’t forget the absolutely BOGUS fluke TD the Ravens ran back in the first half, off that “fumble” caused by all the Steelers standing around thinking the whistle had blown. I wonder how fast the Ravens fans will trot out the Cameron excuse for Flacco if he flops as he usually does in a playoff game?

zorn was fired b/c he and cam weren’t on the same page. flacco loved zorn, and zorn created a great buffer between flacco and cam. but cam thought zorn wasn’t delivering the offense the way he wanted it delivered (west coast vs air coryell). and when it comes down to qb coach vs OC, OC is going to win so zorn was out and flacco was pissed. flacco and cam dont really get along (shocker)

this article is spot on about cam’s play calling. honestly, i think cam would have been gone before the year started if it werent for the lockout. they weighed the pros and cons of firing cam and getting a new OC w/ no off season to implement a new gameplan and decided against it. simple as that

also, the article is spot on about the WRs. despite a couple of great grabs last game, they routinely drop balls that are right in their hands. the only sure handed guys on the team are pitta and rice. ill cut torrey some slack since he’s a rook and his hands were a concern anyways, but dickson and even boldin need to step up and catch the ball

Like the FACT that Ed Reed does believe his QB and OL aren’t doing a good job and need be better. If he didn’t think it he never would have said it in the first place.

Considering Flacco already has a fragile ego I doubt critical comments from a HOF player like Reed don’t have some effect on him. Overcompensating with a staged fight won’t cover up what most of us have known for a while.

Does Cam Cameron hold Flacco back or is Flacco limiting the plays Cam Cameron can call? He obviously has the arm strength, but the consensus to this point surrounding Flacco has been that he doesn’t go through his progressions quickly enough to become anything more than a somewhat decent QB.

Perhaps throwing jump balls down the sidelines and check-downs to Ray Rice is in fact what gives Flacco the best chance to succeed. After all, I would imagine that Cam knows his QB better than any of his critics or apologists do.

A very good argument. I think what tips the scales for most is his history with other QBs. How did Brees and Rivers do after Cameron as opposed to before? I didn’t pay enough attention to the Chargers to know for sure, nor do I pay enough attention to the Ravens to warrant any kind of opinion from me. But if Flacco were just a mediocre QB with trouble reading defenses, I would think that the Ravens would have brought in some stiffer competition than Tyrod Taylor….

The Chargers had great offenses those years.

Part of Flacco’s problem is that his receivers aren’t spectacular and the play-calling can be questionable.

The other part of Flacco’s problem is that he’s Joe Flacco.

He’s not as bad as people say, but he’ll never be better than good.

Still, they won 12 games with him. He just has to be good enough for the Ravens to win.

The Ravens were good enough to beat the Pats a few years ago and Flacco completed one pass and was intercepted a few times, or something like that.

But they still got the win, which means that Flacco’s average play means nothing.

Nothing was stolen and none of the whiners crying about Josh being picked up by the Pats after St Louis gave him permission to do so in order to avoid paying his contract said a single word in 2009 when the Fins released their DC at the end of the season and the Cowboys immediately picked him up for their playoff run. Its called a double standard and invalidates your complaint.

Secondly, how would Josh know any more about signal counts and tendencies from a totally different offense and defense from his own that Fox runs than what Belichick can get from the all 22 film ? He can’t.

Thirdly, if you had actually paid attention the Pats moved to get Josh McD back the moment O’Brien was confirmed as the Ped State coach. They picked him up so they’d have an OC next year that Belichick wouldn’t have to break in. If you really think it needed what tiny input McD had last weekend to beat the Donks you really have very little knowledge of football.
