Ted Ginn misses practice again

Ted Ginn Jr. AP

San Francisco’s already weak wide receiver group may be short a player on Sunday against the Giants.

Ted Ginn was among the 49ers who missed Thursday’s practice, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com.

Patrick Willis (hamstring) and center Jonathan Goodwin (calf) also missed the portion of practice open to the media, but they don’t seem to be at risk of missing the game.

San Francisco is extremely thin on the outside, with Kyle Williams next in line behind Michael Crabtree. The return of tight end Delanie Walker would help, but the Giants have to be confident about their ability to bracket Vernon Davis and handle San Francisco’s wideouts one-on-one on the outside.

The Giants will beat the 49ers

The 49ers paid fanbase(NoCal Mexican Mafia, Bay Area Bloods, Chinatown Asian Mafia, Southside Crips) will beat any law abiding fan that enters Candlestick Ghetto SlumField and attempts to enjoy a football game

The whole 49er fanbase should just be housed all in one place nearby on that famous lil island and ferried in to each game.

These Giants fans are hating so much that it’s starting to seem like they’re worried.

The only reason the Niners will miss Ginn is on Special Teams.

Gore and Hunter will be the diference in this game. Bye haters!

Hilarious…. Sounds like every bay area fan is a criminal.
    More like rotten-to-the-core-big-apple.
Why do they call themselves *new york* giants.
Shouldn’t it be NJ giants…. How lousy it sounds

  11. scoob766 says: Jan 19, 2012 8:53 PM

Giants fans have about a bunch of New York trash as fans, a bunch of Jersey Shore wannabes. I guarantee the crime rate is higher at a Giants game, because lets face it they play in Jersey with Pauly D not actual NY.

Sleep on the Niners people, Brandon Jacobs is a genius in a city full of tards.

The 49ers are going to handle business this weekend. I thoroughly enjoy the arrogant, pompous Giant attitudes. It will be humbling.

Truth is, the Packers truly did play like crap, and NY showed up. SF will actually be on the field unloading the whoop-ass on NY.

I love how the media is playing up this 07 giants “feeling”. What a bunch of bull.

People think this giants team is good because it beat A. A dome team that can’t play in the cold and has zero defense and B. an outdoor team that isnt designed to play in the cold with injured tackles and had the worst d in nfl history ……. Oh yeah an they barely beat the jets because Sanchez decided to take a dive in his own end zone and giants STILL almost lost . Please.

I hate both teams so I guess that makes me objective, and the niners are going to hold the giants to less than 17 points while most likely scoring above 30.

I hate to say it but the niners are flat out the best team left in the playoffs. They have the best d at all 3 levels. They have the best oline and best running game. They have the second best tightend in football ( yeah yeah you could say he’s the best, but if you did you havent seen enough gronk yet.). And as for the niners lack of receivers? …. Base your coverage on the run and te’s and watch Crabtree go for a buck 60 and 3 Tds.

The truth is giants fans is that your team is NOT the 07 team. They did not get “hot” at the right time, they got the right teams. Let’s be real giants fans, do u really think the giants beat the falcons in Atlanta ? No , or let’s say it was 15 % warmer in green bay, do u really think they win ? No. The niners don’t care about that stuff. The niners are just going to flat out punch the g men in the face and knock all the teeth they have out.

Though I do have to say it would be funny to watch Tom Brady put 50 on the giants in the superbowl, but it’s just not going to happen. Oh and giants fans since we all k ow by the end of the year the eagles were the best in the east, you better win it this year cuz I have a feeling another division title run is coming for the birds so it might be awhile for you to get another shot

While I’m sure the game will be be a battle and.very.well played by both teams ( I refuse to sleep in the Niners), please dont make the mistake of lumping all Giants fans into a stereotype you see on TV. Wow, an Eagles fan that thinks the Giants have no shot at winning. I’m shocked.

At this point, both teams have an excellent shot at winning. Both teams are at this point for a reason…because they are playing GOOD FOOTBALL.

And can you tell us where you got the stat for “15% warmer in GB”? that might be the funniest thing I ever heard.

Good to read some truth. As a 9er fan I have a good feeling about this game as I did last week. The 9ers style of ball keeps them in every game and they find ways to get it done at the the end. It going to be a great, hard fought game.

To those that want to knock 9er fans realize that you seem much more like that obnoxious guy at games that everyone hates. The meathead that won’t shut up because liquid courage has him acting out his tiny manhood issues. The rest of us are there for football, because we love our team and love the game. Smack talk should always be about football and never personal…

Is anyone on this thread old enough to remember this is a rematch of the 1990 NFC championship game?? Maybe somewhere Bill Walsh is looking down (or up, who knows really) and saying this time we won’t underestimate. We will just play to win, and that’s exactly what the niners will do. Their D is just too good for Eli, and the O is just good enough. They will most definitely get smoked in the super bowl regardless of who it is.

  33. liljpeezy says: Jan 20, 2012 6:31 AM

    “15% warmer in GB”?

15 % warmer? What’s the matter, you couldn’t find the “degree” symbol on the keyboard?

And that’s the 1st I ever heard of the Packers losing a game because it was too cold. A team that plays outdoors in Wisconsin. Are you serious?

  34. bigbluefan1 says: Jan 20, 2012 6:59 AM

    Just a few thoughts
Yeah the Giants got lucky playing ATL held them scoreless yes the game was outdoors the weather was cool not cold with little or no wind .
And Yes they got lucky again in Greenbay if you take away the two gifts they were held to 2 FG’s.

Now as to fan issues at Giant games other then when some Egirl or Cowpuke fan gets drunk and stupid it is a safe place for fans.
No one has been shot or stabbed at Giants game.

Now as far as the game on Sunday yes the niners have a great D but would any of you niner fans really want Smith over Manning?

  35. cshearing says: Jan 20, 2012 8:42 AM

A practice squad player? Do you even watch football?!

  37. rcampore says: Jan 20, 2012 10:03 AM

As a rational fan, I think it’s hilarious that crazy fans from both teams trash the other teams city and act like they are so much better.

To the crazy niner fans, most of you have probably never stepped foot in Jersey or NY and are trying to stereotype an entire fan base based on something you watch on TV. First off, Pauly D is from Rhode Island, and most of the other cast members are originally from NY, not Jersey. Are there guidos/meatheads in this area? of course, but pretty sure San Francisco is known for the very large gay community so is everyone in San Fran gay? I don’t think so.

And most intelligent Giants fans are not discounting the 49ers as we know it’s going to be a tough game and they are a good team. To discount either team is ridiculous as right now either team has a 50/50 shot to win the game.

I will wait until the game is over and if my team wins, that is great and if they lose, there is really nothing I can do about it.

I do, but like I mentioned, I have not seen many 49ers games this year. Ginn was only decent for us in the return game, and had some fumbling problems. Looking up his numbers now, it looks like he had a great season as a returner. His WR stats are closer to my original point, but returns matter. I was wrong.

See, easy to do without being an ass.

Eli haters keep hating. He took a pounding and still passed for over 300 yards and 2 TDs.
