Fisher says Rams will have the right offense for Bradford

St Louis Rams Introduce Jeff Fisher Getty Images

New Rams coach Jeff Fisher hasn’t decided yet who his offensive coordinator will be, but he says he is confident of one thing: Sam Bradford will thrive in the Rams’ new offense.

Fisher told our own Mike Florio on The Dan Patrick Show that he has talked with Bradford about his own offensive philosophy, and that he and Bradford are on the same page.

“Sam is excited about the direction we’re going,” Fisher said.

So who’s going to be calling the offensive plays for the Rams? Fisher confirmed that Brian Schottenheimer and Hue Jackson are his candidates, although he said he’s going to take his time and possibly consider other coaches.

“I’m going to keep an open mind here,” Fisher said. “I’ve learned over the years that when you’re patient you’re going to make a better decision.”

Fisher also said he just found out last night about the possibility of playing an annual game in London, which he called “very exciting.”

Rams fans can only hope the words “very exciting” are used to describe the offense in St. Louis (and London) in the years ahead.

Right offense but 16 wrong opponents!

The right offense for Sam Bradford– so in other words, not one run by Josh McDaniels?

In a side note the rams punter is pulling for schottenheimer to get the job

Fisher+Bradford=Turd stew with a light vinegrete.

Stop with the Rams stories. Bradford stays hurt. Fisher is WAY overrated. (6 post season apperances in 17 seasons?) Come on.

Theyll lose to LSU in the BCS championship next year. Bums.

That trip to London is going to be a long ride from Los Angeles

  6. thefiesty1 says: Jan 20, 2012 2:26 PM

Bradford is made of glass. Fisher had better get enough blockers so Bradford NEVER gets touched.

  7. max20characters says: Jan 20, 2012 2:29 PM

Hopefully a right Offensive Line too.

  8. deadeye says: Jan 20, 2012 2:30 PM

The right offense for Bradford is one where the o-line actually blocks pass rushers, and prevents Sam from getting season ending injuries.

Was shocked that Mcdaniels didn’t make Sam Bradford crazy good. I watched a few games and it seemed like Bradford didn’t like Mcdaniels too much. I’m just happy Fisher is out of the AFC South!

BS! It took you 17 years to reach a .542 win percentage. What an over rated bum.

The same offense that turned Steve (air) McNair in to a handoff to the RB/throw to the tight end offense?

  12. roamingabriel says: Jan 20, 2012 2:39 PM

I missed the broadcast. Did Mike ask him about how he leveraged his contract?

@qcsfinest704 What makes you think the BCS will ever let LSU in again after that embarrassing flop. I think the Alabama women’s football team could have beaten LSU. And maybe the Aints too…..

    USC is #1 next year!!!

And the Rams will be tough…

Great news, he’s keeping Bradford. Snyder, call them up about that draft spot.

Remember last year when Stafford was made of glass then this year he threw for 5000 yards?

Didn’t Mike Nolan say the same thing about Jim Hostler and Martz? Or was it Mike Singletary and Jimmy Raye?

    All bleeding together now…

Much will be revealed when we see if they take USC left tackle phenom Kalil with the 2nd pick or trade that pick away to fill in more of the holes.
They’ve invested in that O-line over the past few drafts but I think the reality is that they need to take the Tackle and try to keep Bradshaw off his butt.

God, your a turd! You have a beef with Fisher. Did he hook up with your wife or something? We know the winning perc buddy. Get new material

I’d like to hear him say that he had the wrong offense for Bradford.

  20. ghostofgilchrist says: Jan 20, 2012 3:19 PM

Better start thinking about who will take over for Jackson also. Tread’s gotta be wearing thin on that tire.

  21. 1captain1 says: Jan 20, 2012 3:22 PM

It may be too late considering the Rams have followed the syllabus for “How to ruin a young QB 101″ by bringing in a 3rd OC in 3 years.

  22. ortonwhiskeycrew says: Jan 20, 2012 3:33 PM

Patience??? I thought Fisher was Vince Lombardi reincarnated with how hard he was pursued this season since he is just soooo amazing.

  25. yahmule says: Jan 20, 2012 4:20 PM

RGIII, coach. You’ll be sorry if you stick with Bradford and his Harringtonesque 5.99 career yards per attempt. The Rams already passed on Suh for him, don’t compound the mistake.

next thing you know, we’ll see Fish at a charity event wearing a 49ers jersey so he can feel like a winner. lol

im so glad nashville doesnt have to deal with that bum anymore.

  29. lenwhale says: Jan 20, 2012 6:38 PM

The move from Houston to Nashvegas. No home games for 3 years. Meddling, cheap, senile owner. A GM that still cant sniff a job. In division with 1st the Steelers and later the Colts. Questionable QB play.. These things may have contributed to the 542 winning percentage. Just sayin.

  30. commandercornpone says: Jan 20, 2012 9:36 PM

in harrington’s case, he was drafted by millen on the boss’s orders and then played for marty moanandbeg. watch out for that colts, raiders, et al…

for 2 years wbw, the lions were right behind the colts in terms of fewest sacks allowed.

because, harrington, who had a helluva deep arm, was directed by moanandbeg to only take 3 step drops and then chuck it. few sacks. few passes caught. few yards per catch.

harrington is one of the guys i think, if he still played, could have a career rebirth. just not in a martz offense.

For those who think Bradford is fragile or a bust; you are knuckleheads.
Unless there is a new offensive scheme that promotes the QB running for his life and throwing while on his back, the Rams have no chance. The O-line is the worst in the NFL despite millions in wasted money on high draft picks and free agents. If Bradford has no time to throw and the receivers cannot separate nor catch, the Rams have no chance.
I guess it is all for naught as the Rams want to play all their “home” games in neutral sites.

Fans are so negative. I remember where saints were years ago(bags) and niners last year and Cowboys their 1st 2 years with Aikman. EVERY team has had rough years only tobe good at one point. Rams will be ok.

  33. rob6465 says: Jan 21, 2012 11:19 AM

Hearing and reading fans talk about Rams QB Sam Bradford being a bust or not right QB. Huh???? SF fans/”experts” trashing Alex Smith or Eli getting killed by media early on and everyone laughing when he said he is an elite QB. Jermichael Finley of packers got booed by his own fans in GB. We are soooo quick to flip flop on players. Heard the same people that praised Aaron Rodgers now tear him up. WOW.
