@ fringetastic

And what about the Ravens? We're at the AFC Title game--18th game of the year for these two--and the Ravens have only ONE guy injured? Yeah. OK. Anquan Boldin is just coming off knee surgery. His knee is 100%? They have no linemen playing on tweeked knees or ankles or shoulders? What are THEY hiding?

DISCLAIMER--I think this argument is dumb. I don't think teams should have to disclose anything on a player who is going to play.

I know you're a hater, but do you see how it goes the other way too? List too few on the injury report, and it looks like you're hiding injuries. List too many, people say you're an ass, but you're doing the same thing--hiding injuries. Dude, it's a game teams play.

Have you ever seen a HOCKEY injury report. ANY injury below the waist is called a "Lower Body" injury. You know what they call any injury ABOVE the waist?...You got it. An UPPER body injury--even if it's a wrist injury and everyone knows it's a wrist injury, they'll call it an upper body injury. It's just a silly game teams play.

He does it to annoy the league!

@ fringetastic

Belichick does stuff like this because a few years back, some teams accused him of not being forthcoming with injuries. The league talked to him, so now, he goes the other way in terms of reporting injuries. If you could look at the injury reports in the early 2000s, the Patriots hardly had anyone on them. Now, he lists every guy who bumped into a door jam on the list. So, no one still knows who's legit injured yet he provides a list so long that no one can accuse him of hiding injuries.

Sorry, but another great ploy by a great coach. Personally, the only guys teams should have to report are guys who are doubtful or out. But, then, everyone would be listed as doubtful. So, no one would really know anyway.

OK, just tell me who's NOT playing.

Belichick hates the injury report.

He know it only puts players in harms way, and undermines the strategy of limiting intel to your enemy about strength and weakness heading into battle.

Goodell requires Belichick to tell the Ravens where to hit Brady if they want to take him out of the game. That's a pretty lame rule, for any team's key player.

Chances are Belichick is just putting out misinformation and mocking Goodell.

You are blind. Almost all injury reports are handled the same way. One of the playoff teams recently had obvious injury report omissions and while reported in the media, nobody raised an eyebrow. There were no howls of "cheaters!" as if somehow the opponents lack of knowledge of the true extent of an injury was unfair. In all honesty I don;t get the purpose of the injury report and I think they should just do away with it. Just prepare your guys for everyone on the other team and show up for the game. My guess is that is what Belichick would like as well.

The perennial success of The Patriots, and memories of recent beatdowns issued to create the obligatory petty jealousies.

This just in. Noone cares about him being on the injury report. You know damn well hes going to play. Why the stupid coach does this is beyond me.”

That’s because you don’t know much about the team and coach you are commenting on.

The Pats were fined early in Belichik’s tenure for not putting I believe it was Brady on the injury report for some very minor issue in his throwing shoulder or something like that. Hence Brady’s epic stay on the injury report every single game for several years as P-Shoulder.

It means if anyone on the Pats has a paper cut or a hangnail they go on the report so the league can’t say dick about it. If the league feels like reversing that earlier fine and giving the money back maybe Belichick will change the way he handles the injury report. Until then….

The injury report status is based on the amount of practice time a player participates in. It's not an arbitrary report.

There's no valid reason (other than for the gamblers) that a team in any sport should have to report injury status for any player prior to a game. Why should any team help an opponent prepare?

That said, I love the paranoia surrounding anything BB does.

The rest of the questionable players should play in a repeat of last week when 12 of the 13 questionable Patriots were active against the Broncos.

-------------

It is stuff like this, Patriots fans, that keeps reminding everyone else of 'Belicheat', that makes others think of the Patriots as cheats. Everyone knows their injury report is a _lie_.

I respect Belichick's coaching abilities immensely, but this kind of stuff cheapens him and your club.

If Bill Belichick had his way he would probably list himself and half his staff as probable.
Smart coaches keep the opponent guessing. One of reasons the Patriots keep on winning.

That's not even what it's about. It's a big middle finger to the NFL and its idiotic injury reporting rules. He lists anyone who has more than a booboo as "Questionable" and has them "Limited" in practice if they miss so much as one rep

While he was ‘injured’ and not at practice he was watching practice tape o the Ravens D.
I know, shocker. But the media would go crazy if they had to say something positive about the Ravens. They can’t reach the superbowl.

Look for a lot of roughing Brady’s aura flags to fly.

I hope you're right! Because Brady has had zero roughing the passer calls on him this year. That's right not one. How many has unibrow gotten as a statue in the backfield?
