Von Miller is a stand up guy....excellent LB and a huge part of DEN surge, even injured.

His hit was during live play, though could've been a clip. It was the dirty NE players that escalated the situation when you look at replay.

I am surprised he got fined for that. Seems more off of the fact it was late in a blow out, than the illegality of the hit.

Lame if you ask me.

NO fines for the late hits on Eli?
NO fines for the blind mice that gave the Packers 2 TD's?

Worst game ever if that was soccer game in England those refs would not have made it home that night. Not saying that is the answer but lucky for Giants they could over come the homer refs and kick the packers back to past.

Why are Giants talking soo much? Hubris cometh before the fall. …
———————————————————
Why are the Giants talking sooo much? Because reporters are asking them questions. You have to realize that there are probably 10-12 beat reporters on the NY Post ALONE, writing stories about the Giants at this point. Add in all the other NY papers, radio stations, TV, etc…

I realize that a lot of people think the Giants get too much press, but the fact is New York IS the media capital of the US (if not the world). It only makes sense that every player on that team is getting hounded, just because there are so many reporters looking for a new “angle”.

Believe me, if it was the “New York 49ers”, Kendall Hunter and Ted Ginn would be getting just as much press.

Thanks a lot gcsuk, I was wondering when someone would bring that up. People on here just keep saying "Giants can't stop talking" and have no idea the kind of market NY is. Not even to mention the amount of Press Giants receive. As of now, Antrel Rolle and Brandon Jacobs can tell you what they had for breakfast and it would somehow be made into a juicy story. Perhaps they eat a light breakfast and the Media turns it into not needing anything strong to take on the next opponent.

Just like hardly anything was mentioned about Richard Seymour saying that the Patriots were outplayed and outcoached. However, practically the whole country heard all about Tiki barber and Jeremy Shockey saying it.

So The Patriots keeps scoring on teams all you hear is crying how dare they run up the score, completely ignoring the fact that this is professional football and the guys on the defense get paid millions to stop them, its not the Pats job to motivate and make the opposition feel good about themselves.

Then instead of moving the ball and scoring the Pats literally just give the ball to the Broncos on third down and now that is wrong.

lol What are the Patriots supposed to do go and place the ball in the endzone for the defence to pick up?

Why are the Giants talking sooo much? Because reporters are asking them questions. You have to realize that there are probably 10-12 beat reporters on the NY Post ALONE, writing stories about the Giants at this point. Add in all the other NY papers, radio stations, TV, etc...

I realize that a lot of people think the Giants get too much press, but the fact is New York IS the media capital of the US (if not the world). It only makes sense that every player on that team is getting hounded, just because there are so many reporters looking for a new "angle".

Believe me, if it was the "New York 49ers", Kendall Hunter and Ted Ginn would be getting just as much press.

Why are people so mad about the Patriots "running up the score"? Do teams normally bench starters in THE PLAYOFFS? The idea shouldn't even need to come up. If the 9ers are being crushed by the Giants on Sunday, I don't expect them to sit Eli Manning. I think the game will be a close one, but it's the playoffs. A starter sitting down because the game is completely out of hand should never occur.

westmantooth says:

One of these days, New England is going to run up the score and the cheap shot will be on Brady. It will be career over, and the Patriots will look an awful lot like the Browns for the next 10 years.

Not hating, just saying.

*********************************************************************

Hmmm.... Apparently, somebody is frustrated, jealous and envious of the Patriots success. Fact is that Brady was already "cheap shotted" by Bernard Pollard who destroyed his knee and Brady lost an entire season. BTW... the Pats went 11-5 that season anyway and of course the Pats are now again... as always... back in the hunt for another Lombardi Trophy.

Not hating, just saying.

The Chung fine is absurd. It was a penalty. It was a late hit. I thought the purpose of fines was for player safety, not to stop penalties? Penalties will happen and they have in-game punishment. We don't need Lord Goodell fining players for flags. The same goes for the Von Miller play. Even if it was a late hit, it was a late hit after the whistle. It wasn't a helmet to helmet, it wasn't leaving your feet to hit a defenseless player. It was just a penalty. Stop these absurd fines.

I can not stand this BS. It's football! Violence is intrinsically a part of the game. Trying to fine players into playing "kinder & gentler" is just plain ugly. It's like castrating a beautiful studding horse..... It's like forcing a super model to wear a burka and drab baggy robes.... It's like painting a Ferrari battleship gray..... It's like telling The Who to turn it down.... It's like putting a governor on a classic muscle car.... It's like sucking the passion out ones love of life.

If there's a penalty on the field, then blow the whistle and call it a damn penalty. Done/Case closed.

Let me get this out of the way first, Pats fan.

Now, Chung's hit was certainly excessive, as the guy was already out of bounds, so he deserved the penalty absolutely. The fine is up to the league, and honestly, I'd say it was deserved as well, he shouldn't have done it, and I'm sure he regrets it.

Von Miller clearly cheap-shotted someone, and he should own up to it. You can call punting on 3rd down cheap, or you could remember the Pats were up by 35, and basically just playing around on field at that point to avoid the 'running up the score' whining that typically happens after the game. Remember, they took damn near 2 entire quarters off in that game.

Now, why did Brady punt? Maybe because it was a frigid night, the Bronco's were showing blitz, and rather than move the ball closer to the endzone (they could've kept going after the half, you all know it), they simply got rid of the ball and kept the blitz from contacting Brady. Smart move. Wouldn't say cheap, why would anyone think that? He could've just hit Gronk, Welker, Hernandez or Branch and gotten another TD. I guess I'm just not familiar with the unwritten etiquette of Football, so my apologies if I'm not understanding something here.

Didn't see the other hit that was fined here, so no opinion whatsoever. But, Miller and Chung certainly had it coming.
