The Giants had the ball four times in the third quarter. The result: Punt, punt, punt, and punt.

While New York has done a lot of good things in this game, they trail 14-10 heading into the final frame. Two big plays to Vernon Davis accounted for the scoring for the 49ers. San Francisco’s secondary is a little thin after cornerback Tarrell Brown left with a concussion.

The biggest worry for New York: San Francisco’s running game and pass rush seems to be rounding into form as the game wears on.

It looks like we’re headed for another fun fourth quarter.
