It was supposed to rain all weekend in San Francisco, but Saturday turned out to be beautiful. That isn’t the case Sunday.
It’s been raining all day, with wind picking up in recent hours. A tarp remains on the field and the grounds crew is spreading sand on the periphery of the field.
It’s expected to continue raining all day. Winds will be between 15-20 MPH, with gusts going higher.
Yep, it looks like David Diehl and the Giants will get a chance to prove they really are “mudders.”

Should be fun to watch. That’s how it’s suppose to be. Not indoor turf with heating coils to keep them warm.
just like Harbaugh said, “red sky by morning, sailors take warning” lol
the only thing the giants are going to prove is that they’re about to get punched in the mouth by physical team and then get muddy! GO NINERS!!!
Candlestuck Field is a Dump
Gonna be a great game, lets go GIANTS!
Finally we are getting a playoff game in actual football conditions.
I can’t bleeping wait!
This will go down as the historic “Mud Bowl” which was won by the Giants, 16-13.
my stomach is in knots…..i hope the giants romp….but good luck to the niner fans out there.
Are the lights working?
The Niners’ field will be wet with rain, and the Niners fans will be wet with liquor
Going to be an awesome game, Jacobs and Bradshaw need to come up big. May the best team win today.
@randallcobb….. why arent we playing at Lambeau? Oh thats right your overrated team got their doors blown off by this Giants team. With your high school stadium up north in your tiny dump of a town. I trust that your hopes for next year will keep you warm….along with the 60lbs of flab youre carrying around. Have a great day. Hope you and your “stock certificate” make it through the harsh winter.
Go jints.
Buffalo is the only real outdoor winter stadium, snow / wind & cold all wrapped into one.
I’m wet thinking about this matchup!
What makes bad conditions “football weather” to some as if it was originally designed to be played in the mud? I don’t hate weather games but I don’t find them to be any better either.
I’d argue the bear’s stadium is a “true ” outdoor stadium when it comes to the elements as well.
I’m predicting a power outage late in the game when tynes attempts a go-ahead field goal.
It will be raining with water and bodies dressed in blue jerseys.
All weather reports are BS and dont get updated. If you go to weather.com and san fran, and use their radar map, it shows the rain will be gone 2 hours before kick off with no new rain coming in. Im sure run off from the tarp will still make the field soggy but as far as the radar map, which is the most accurate source b/c its constantly update, the rain wil lbe gone and it wont rain during the game.

press play on the map. By 1 pm San Fran time the rain has all moved east and there is nothing behind it. It WILL NOT rain during this game.
the giants are gonna make alex smith look like the bum that he is lol
Poor Alex Smith and his little hands. He has trouble with the ball normally if they fall behind and need him to mount a comeback they’re screwed. Look for a big game from Manning and Manningham today.
Giants

High tide is rolling in right now. The field is below sea level. It’s going to be soggy and windy regardless

Like they did last time. $50 says you aren’t around later if the G-men lose
NWS says light rain and breezy until 8PM then higher winds and heavy rain afterward.
Let’s go Niners!
