Do you simpletons seriously not get Harbaugh doesn’t literally mean they haven’t been defeated?
------------------------------------------------

Do you seriously not get that almost everyone knows exactly what he meant, but because he's a poor sport in winning or losing and an unlikable character they are all just seizing an opportunity to bag on him?

Coach Harbaugh You and your staff did a SUPER job leading your men to the playoffs.
However, I will venture to say 70% of the players do NOT know the rules as they pertain to their position. i.e. Williams staying far away from the ball. Perhaps during Training Camp, you could invite a Ref to explain the rules pertaining to each position. Offence, Defence and Special Teams. Having done that you now have cause to fine them or cut them on the spot

Ya know.... I have to expect to hear a little trash talk from some of the more brash Giants fans. Thats alright. You won. Laugh it up. Exciting game. Eli took his lumps and played extrememly well considering he was PLANTED numerous times. I have all the respect in the world for this team.... BUT.... to come in here and read trash talk from at least 1 fan of teams like The Lions, Steelers, Saints and Seahawks... C'Mon guys. Be serious. The Lions were ALWAYS overrated and they were a "feel good story" until you looked a little deeper and saw that guys like Suh are anything but good citizens on the field. Steelers? You're defense has aged horribly and you lost to a "QB" that you yourself claimed to be horrible. Saints fans? Thats just sour grapes. I get it. Ya got bounced after that "convincing" win against the Lions. can see why that win gave ya confidence. Ya played a whole game without getting stomped on. Good for you. Take your Indoor offense and High School defense and hit the bricks... Seahawks fans? lol. Thats the worst of all. grow up.

Isn’t this quote a little backwards?

“A man can be destroyed but he can’t be defeated as long as his team knows that there’s hope.”

If a man is destroyed, he’s completely gone – obliterated – and therefore has no future or hope. Shouldn’t the quote be “A man can be defeated but he can’t be destroyed as long as…”? I mean, you can lose a battle but go on to fight another day so long as you haven’t been destroyed. Methinks Harbaugh memorized that quote earlier in the day in case of a loss, and then screwed it up when it came time to ape it.

-----------

I thought it was brain-friend nonsense by Harbaugh when I heard that on ESPN postgame, but whatever. He's fishing for things to say, but that classless jerk is so fixated upon making excuses as to why they lost instead of realizing the Giants are just a better team. And only in a backhanded manner did he emote such.

He wants every play call to go his way, he needs to be in better control of his players. Jumping on the camera platform Jim needs to have control of that. Williams droped a reverse in the game, fumbled, then gets hit from the ball on a punt. You can't make that many mistakes. But he was still in the game but a poor sport the quick hand shake and lack of interviews, glad to see no Harbaughs got to Superbowl.

Jim Harbaugh is a joke. He cries about every call and I am so tired of him arguing over eveyr call. Jim... shut up, get a QB and real stadium. After every play - they show Harball crying and yelling at the refs. He is little Schembechler. What a whining baby. Him and his cry baby brother make me wish I liked golf.

The 49ers lost the game more than the Giants won it.

I hate the fact a NY team won, the media there will act like this is one of the greatest teams ever and Eli (a good QB) is one of the greatest of all times, Victor Cruz is the greatest, etc, etc.

I remember the same garbage when my Houston Rockets defeated the NY Knicks in the 90s. The NY media was salivating to declare Ewing of the best ever.

I hope the Pats destroy the Giants

---------

That makes you more pathetic than anything.

And you can hope, you have your right to do so, but in reality, it won't happen. Giants D >>> Patriots O, Giants O >>> Patriots D.

Unless the Patriots somehow force turnovers and find a running game (Green-Ellis is a bum), I don't see how your hater-based wishes will occur. It may be close either way, or the GIANTS will blow the Patriots out, but the Patriots don't have the weapons to blow the Giants out. ESPECIALLY if Gronkowski is hobbled.

Isn't this quote a little backwards?

<I>"A man can be destroyed but he can’t be defeated as long as his team knows that there’s hope.”</i>

If a man is destroyed, he's completely gone - obliterated - and therefore has no future or hope. Shouldn't the quote be "A man can be defeated but he can't be destroyed as long as..."? I mean, you can lose a battle but go on to fight another day so long as you haven't been destroyed. Methinks Harbaugh memorized that quote earlier in the day in case of a loss, and then screwed it up when it came time to ape it.

Yes, Jim you and your team were defeated. I hope the front-running niner fans enjoyed this run because this is the last sniff you and your classless, cheating, smack-talking losers and your neanderthal coach are going to have for a loooong time. Can't wait to kick your bay area butts next year.

And as far as what he really meant? Yes they are. They're going to let almost all those free agents go, and Alex Smith will go right back to suckitude if they decide to actually be stupid enough and re-sign him.

I love the trash talking early in the morning.Giants played a heckuva game and came out victorious. Congrats to that team. What a great game. just as close and hard fought as I thought it might be. 9ers lost the turnover battle. The End.

Kyle Williams showed great effort and I refuse to scapegoat him for 2 bad plays. Good Luck against Brady and the Pats, GMen. Thats a tough squad, but if you show the grit on offense and toughness on defense that you showed against the 9ers last night you'll do great. Catch ya in 2 weeks.
