Four years after one of the greatest Super Bowls in NFL history (Pats fans may disagree), it’s easy to get caught up in the similarities between the participants. Same quarterbacks, same coaches, same uniform color schemes.
But plenty of differences.
Via our friends at the NBC Sports research department, the Giants have only nine of the same starters, and only seven of the same reserves/special teamers.
The Pats, in contrast, have only five starters from the 2007 title game, and two reserves/special-teamers. On defense, tackle Vince Wilfork is the only common link between the starting lineups.
Keep that in mind before presuming that this will simply be Super Bowl XLII, Part II.
