Giants officially talk some trash against the Jets

one more tynes

Rex Ryan couldn’t have come up with a more distasteful Super Bowl matchup for himself and his fans.

His division rival Patriots will take on his city rival Giants. After a lot of bluster about owning New York, the Jets will be stuck having to root for Big Blue in the big game.

The Giants aren’t making it any easier on the Jets by officially talking some trash after the game.

“Some teams are happy getting to Conference Championship games, but #ImReallyGoodAt winning them! 5-0 all time! #ALLIN,” read the team’s official Twitter page late last night.

We didn’t think the Jets offseason could get any uglier, but Sunday’s results did the trick.

For us Jet fans this season has now turned into a train wreak. With the Giants and Patriots in the super bowl this has now turned into an epic disaster. Big mounth and his boys could have prevented this with a win on Dec 24, a day that will stay forever in the minds of Jet fans. If the Giants win the Super Bowl PSL stadium in Giants minds will again be known as Giants stadium. As a long time Jets fan it just seems that no matter who is in charge of this franchise it never gets any better over the long haul.

The Giants and Yankees own New York.
The Jets are the forgotten and ignored stepchild nobody acknowledges.

Rex Ryan knows his act has worn out and he continually makes an ass out of himself and his players, thats why they are tuning him out

  15. irongershwin says: Jan 23, 2012 10:27 AM

Hey, Jetz, enjoying your offseason yet? I’m loving it, couldn’t happen to a better bunch of losers! Hey Jetz fans, you can cheer for the Pats, we won’t mind. unless you want to cheer for the Giants, in which case we won’t mind either!

  17. nyjalleffingday says: Jan 23, 2012 10:28 AM

They haven’t stopped talking about the Jets since they won, so this comes as no surprise. In fact, the Giants and their fans have been so obnoxious that I’m actually considering rooting for the Pats.

  18. hus10188 says: Jan 23, 2012 10:29 AM

In the last 3 years, that team has
    Never won a division,
    Never been to a superbowl,
Off the back of that Rex releases his ”highly anticipated” autobiography in his 2nd year as a head coach,
The team signs off on allowing their mediocre QB to accept every offer to pose half naked with any and every magazine.

While the New York Football Giants just keep on WINNING!!! Model franchise in each and every way! GO BIG BLUE!

  26. IMG says: Jan 23, 2012 10:44 AM

Well, the Giants can talk all they want, they’ve backed it up thus far.
However, they need to really put a clamp on the histrionics. It’s not like they are playing for a new stadium or anything.

  27. cruuuzcontrol says: Jan 23, 2012 10:47 AM

This has ended up exactly like the Daily News’ similarly-ill-advised proclamation of the Mets as New York’s baseball team circa the mid-2000s. I can only hope this era ends as that one did… With a title, to remind everyone who owns this city.

  28. nav711 says: Jan 23, 2012 10:49 AM

He picked the Giants to win against the 49ers so……..
Yeah doesn’t really matter. Time for Eli to put another on Brady.

  33. 3yrsnfl says: Jan 23, 2012 11:01 AM

The Jets had the talent to make the playoffs. Holmes is a talented athlete, but he basically brought the team down. The Giants and Patriots are TEAMS. I’m a Jet fan and I believe they owe me something.

  34. patsfiend says: Jan 23, 2012 11:04 AM

Please note that nowhere in this article is there any comment or reaction by a Jets coach or player. It’s just fluff meant to bring out the “Jets suck” crowd.

    And…

    @nyjalleffingday who says:
“They haven’t stopped talking about the Jets since they won, so this comes as no surprise. In fact, the Giants and their fans have been so obnoxious that I’m actually considering rooting for the Pats.”

I don’t know how those allegiances would go. I guess the equivalent would be rooting for the Sox over the Yankees (if you’re a Mets fan)… which is okay. I certainly root for the Mets when they play the Yankees. :-)

  35. njjets says: Jan 23, 2012 11:06 AM

If I were the Giants, I’d spend less time gloating and worrying about the Jets and more time preparing for Brady and the Patriots. If they lose this game, beating the 49ers only equates to a low set of draft picks.

  36. starderup says: Jan 23, 2012 11:08 AM

Rex is cool with it. I heard he asked for some pictures of Tyne’s feet (only to honor the guy that won the game).

  37. trollhammer20 says: Jan 23, 2012 11:16 AM

    ————————————

Yes, I do love being a NY Giant fan, because last time I checked we’re in the Super Bowl unlike your team I guess. This is your argument, the Cardinal “no-fumble” call that went in the Giants favor? REALLY? Dude you got to present something better than that. See, let’s state some facts here so we can move on:

You clearly distaste the NY Giants and their fans, no problem, and I hate to break it to you, we don’t care much for you neither.

As far as I am concerned, the Giants can talk all the smack they can, they have won four games and is one win away from another championship.

And with your officiating complaint, I think you can send that to the NFL, I believe they have a (garbage) pile where that belongs because I am pretty sure YOU yourself will admit, there have been a lot of questionable calls where one team benefits and the other doesn’t throughout the season. That is just how it is.

Now, for your entire comment, I am sorry, and I am pretty sure a lot will agree, that really just sounds like “whinning” and, to use your own words “b!tching” coming from a sore loser!!!

I love it when I see comments like this because, as we’ve seen from haters last week, we’re still in it, regardless of the hating. Suggestion, try to root for a team next season who, at least, plays decently and looks like they may give themselves a slim chance at the playoffs.

  41. sdelmonte says: Jan 23, 2012 11:22 AM

This tweet is very much unlike anything the Maras and Tisches ever do. I suspect at least some people in the owners’ box don’t love seeing it. It smacks of sore winning.

Better to just let the results speak for themselves.

Yeah OK and all we have heard for the last 2 seasons in how you made it to the AFC championship game and how Sanchize won 4 road playoff games.(even after you got out of playoff contention) Get over yourself. Noone talks more than Jets fans and the lapband!
Guess what, we want you to root for the Patriots because we sure as H*LL don’t want you rooting for the GMEN.
Also for all those people asking Rex to pick the Giants, that means nothing to us because that turd won’t rub off on us.

    @rcampore

Right. They earned the right to say something, and they did say something, after they won on Christmas Eve. And then they said something again. And again. And again. And again. It’s been 5 weeks already, now, and they’ve been taking shots at the Jets the entire time, let it go. They for sure earned their right to talk, but continuing to talk about a team that has been eliminated for a good amount of time now reeks of the type of immature, juvenile mindset I’d expect from 14 year olds.

Whether or not anyone likes it, this is the first season they have outplayed the Jets since Rex arrived. They beat the Jets in 2011. Big freakin’ deal, it wasn’t a hard thing to do, the Jets sucked this year, even the Jets themselves beat the Jets this year. Congratulations to the Giants and their organization for winning one game that we couldn’t, but if you want to pick the “classy, big brother” role, you can’t go yapping to the media every week, win or lose. It doesn’t go both ways.

  52. mcjon22 says: Jan 23, 2012 12:07 PM

The Cherry on top for Rex will be when Peyton signs with Miami instead of his Jets. The thought of playing Manning and Brady 4 times a year might give him the heart attack that steak N’ shake has failed to deliver so far.

  55. brownsclown says: Jan 23, 2012 12:21 PM

The Jets could be back next year.
Usually, it takes a team one year to recover for every year that they have Braylon ‘hands of stone’ Edwards on their roster. He was with the Jets for one year and was gone this year. Next year they should be in a full recovery mode.

SF almost escaped this year by cutting him prior to the playoffs. But his selfish, lazy attitude of me first entitlement had already taken its toll. You could see the improvement in the SF receivers after he was dumped, but Wilson had some lingering effects.

So next year should be a rebound year for the Jets.

  56. johntonioholmes says: Jan 23, 2012 12:25 PM

  60. goldrush36 says: Jan 23, 2012 1:12 PM

I think this is the first superbowl where most of the world wants both teams to lose. I’m not bitter, the G-Men won fair and square capitalizing on Butterfingers Williams screw ups. It’s just that the New York and Boston areas are the most arrogant and pompous in the country. Only thing worse would be Giants vs Jets. Now with that said Brady is a cry baby pansy if you even brush against him. Eli got the living hell beat out of him and kept fighting. So for Eli alone I have to say go giants

  61. deconjonesbitchslap says: Jan 23, 2012 1:12 PM

remember what vince lombardi said: if you lose, you’re out of the family.

  62. nyjetsfan08 says: Jan 23, 2012 1:54 PM

Rex Ryan is doing the right thing by admitting he made mistakes, this team made mistakes, and he needs to change. Hopefully, that means he stops talking so much and making promises that only Namath can back up. (Note: Unitas was injured and Namath didn’t have a great game himself. While the game was of monumental importance to the league’s future, it wasn’t like the Jets had zero chance to win the game.)

I can’t root for the Giants and I certainly don’t like the Pats, either. Weatherford was a Jet for a couple of years. But Shaun Ellis IS a Jet and he’s going to the SuperBowl with the Pats. That sucks. But he was a great player for us and I’ll root for him. And I’d rather Brady get 4 rings, so I can tell my grandkids, one day, that I got to see one of the all-time greats, maybe the best, QB in NFL history. I like Eli, too, but I’m rooting for the Pats (very) slightly more. With any luck, the game can end in a tie and neither team wins the SuperBowl (I know this is not possible, but maybe the Refs will screw up again and forget how the OT rules work).

  63. jp415 says: Jan 23, 2012 6:08 PM

The Giants got lucky. They got 10 points off turnovers in the 49ers red zone. Go Pats!”

The Pats got lucky! Lee Evans dropped a TD, and the kicker missed a chip shot, because the Pats were messing with the scoreboard. On a side note they signed Josh Mcdaniels so they could have an advantage against the teams the Rams played, like 49ers, Giants, and Saints.
The Pats are the biggest 3 time superbowl frauds there is. People keep saying everyone steals signals.. yes they do, but they dont record practices of the other team during the Superbowl. Marshal Faulk wouldn’t be so bitter, and the Pats would have still had a 1st round pick and be 500 thousand richer. Faulk took a shot at NE again recently on the NFL network saying your missing your cameraman, which would explain the drought in Playoff appearances.

as far as trash talking, it’s no big surprise coming from the giants and their fans. they are both fully capable of being obnoxious. the bluster and bravado coming from the jets and their fans didn’t come from me, but at this point, you’d have to call the giants mouthing off a bit completely fair!
