Maybe he wanted to get away from college players and then realized 90% of the Bucs are only 1 or 2 years out of college.

Been a Bucs fan since I first saw a commercial featuring Hardy Nickerson eating a bowl of nails for breakfast.

Glad Kelly didn’t take/get the job.
Really hope Brad Childress is out of the running.

The Glazers have their heads up Manchester United’s asses and the Bucs have been put on the backburner for years. If you ask me I think the team needs new ownership that will commit to building a long lasting, winning product.

One former coach that I would be excited about, would be the hiring of Herman Edwards. I’d love for him to be at the helm of the Bucs.

As for Chip Kelly, he reminds me of “Andy” from “According to Jim”.

So many of these college coaches have this “change of heart” after appearing to secure NFL jobs. Many of these guys are just hoping to increase their profiles and existing deal at their schools. College football has somewhat of a sick element to it and that starts with these coaches. The Bucs would be better off hiring someone with NFL experience at the coordinator level than a clueless college coach.

Not happy about reports of him leaving for the NFL… It takes two to negotiate… Bummed to see him stay at Oregon though the Bucs running a spread offense would have been fun to watch.

Good. Bucs do yourself a favor; hire either Wade Phillips or Marty Schottenheimer. You wont be sorry. – both can get your defense steady or even better than it is, and they are functional enough – i think Schottenheimer could do wonders for you even at a late age – he tends to reach players regardless of the age difference.

I think Vic Fangio of the Niners MAY get a little play (hell, if Dennis Allen did, i know Vic has to be up for something).

I am a big fan of Oregon and Chip Kelly but I don’t think Kelley’s offensive scheme would transition very well into the NFL.
