Rofl, cam newton over Matthew stafford?! What a joke. I am 100% boycotting the pro bowl because of this. It doesn’t help that megatron isn’t in it.

The pro bowl should have stayed the week after the super bowl .
It loses even more of its original meaning by the recent changes.

Too bad the league moved the Pro Bowl to the weekend before the Super Bowl when players can’t participate if they’re teams make it to the Championship game. Rob Gronkowski was so excited to be voted in and thought he deserved the chance to play.

He won’t be turning his nose up at the Super Bowl experience, but it shouldn’t have to be a choice.

It’s incredible how the fact that this is the first time in NFL history that a rookie quarterback and a rookie wide receiver on the same team both made it to the pro bowl and the media seemingly shrugs it off and headlines Cam-Cam, Teschmoe, and anyone but the Bengals.

But then again, I guess it really isn’t that suprising.

As a Lions fan, I really thought the Giants winning would put Stafford in the Pro Bowl. Oh well. Cam Newton is a hell of a talent and deserves it. Both Newton and Stafford will have multiple Pro Bowls under their belts by the time they retire, I’m sure.

Happy for Dalton & Green, too. Amazing young tandem.

As a Pats fan, I freely admit that I thought we would kill the Giants in 2007. This year, while I still think we can win, I also believe the Giants could win it too. I, for one, will not take anything for granted this time.

all those accusations were proved to be false a really long time ago.

I’m utterly shocked he who is not to be named did not get thrown in there to boost ratings.

Cam Newton was the first QB ever to do what he did, and he did it as a rookie. You can’t call that a sham/scam.

As a Panthers fan I am stoked Cam Newton made it…I do see your point though, 5,000 yards is rare. Although when was the last time a rookie qb through for 4,054 yards? Uh, never…when was the last time any qb ran for 14 TDs…never? 34 total TDs…700+rush yards. I too think Stafford should go to Hawaii, but don’t slam Cam like he just showed up and got in automatically.

IMO, just becaus the Internet gives you the freedom to be a very bitter and ignorant person doesn’t mean u have to give into it. First off: calling Cam a scam based on nothing more than media speciulative guilt simply shows ur ignorance. Second of all: Cam is an alternate. For as good of a season Matt had, the fact that none of u or the media felt he was good enough to compete with the top tier QBs nevermind beat out a rookie may the real culprit.

Also, where’s the disgruntle attitude towards Dalton? Isn’t he taking a QB place whose stats are better than his?

I guess it’s easy to project misguided hate towards an easy target.

Pretty cool, except it doesn’t matter because someone had to get subbed in for it to happen. The media is always pretty lax when it comes to “this is player X’s Nth Pro Bowl”. We never know whether they were actually voted in.

Aaron Hernandez was actually the first Pro Bowl alternate over Gresham. Obviously, he can’t go either, but does anyone know if he “officially” made the pro bowl before then not being able to go either?

I think the Texans O-line still gets snubbed here. Spare me the order of votes and alternate 1, 2 etc. I believe their O-line was much better than the Jets and slightly more consistent and better for much of the season than the Jets line. JMO
Otherwise, who cares about the special teamer, really doesn’t make that much of a difference and great to see that many Bengals in the pro-bowl game. I suspect a few of them (Dalton, Green, Dunlap/Atkins possibly and Gresham) will find themselves there next year, as the first selection to begin with if they build upon what they got going on in Cincy next year.
