Is that the same one that played under today’s sissy rules of protecting “defenseless” (spineless) quarterbacks and receivers?

Brag all you want about Jake Long, but bottom line is the Dolphins have not won 1 playoff game in over a decade. That is pathetic, but luckily they have another just as inept team in their division called the Bills. Matt Moore is a great backup, not a starter. Theres a reason he was a backup for most of his career. No pressure on him to perform this past season in the 2nd half of the season when your team is not playing for anything meaningful anyway.

Plus Jake Long is overrated in his own right. Hes starting to show a lack of durability, and the Dolphins didnt seem to miss a beat without him. Sits out the Buffalo game and the Fish still have over 200 yards rushing. Left tackles are extremely important, but not as important as a QB. You dont need to look any further than all the recent super bowl winning QB’s.

Not sure you will find any non Doplhins fans who would agree that they would rather have Long over Ryan (you will even find plenty of Dolphins fans who would rather have Ryan). Ryan”s 0-3 record in the playoffs is alarming, but hey, at least his team actually been to the playoffs a few seasons that he has been in the league.

I don’t understand the statement that they are “ready to spend the money” on a franchise quarterback. Haven’t they always spent to the salary cap? Also, how do they plan on getting this franchise quarterback? Matt Flynn is probably an improvement over what they have now. But it’s hard to consider him a franchise quarterback based on a few games.

First of all, the word is “passed”. Second, I’m sick of hearing about how the Dolphins passed on Ryan. Jake Long was by far the better pick. You don’t take a QB for the sake of taking a QB. You draft a QB when you think you’ve identified a good one. Matt Ryan is barely an average QB… Here’s who was better than him in 2011…

Brady, Eli, Vick, Rogers, Stafford, Cutler (pre-injury), Newton, Brees, Big Ben, Flacco, Schaub (pre-injury), Rivers. That’s 12.

You can also make an argument that Dalton, Palmer, Tebow, and yes Matt Moore were as good, if not better than Ryan this year.

Jake Long is an elite left tackle… I’ll take him over Matt Ryan 10 times out of 10.

So when did they decide on the wisdom of a new goal?

Ummm…I don’t see where he’s saying a bold ANYTHING. This is not Rex Ryan saying they ARE the best, or that they ARE going to win a Championship. He’s acknowledging that Miami needs to get better. If he said anything else, what would the response be?

“We had a so-so year, and we’re not going to make any changes or try to do any better. We’re happy being below average.”

THAT’S what fans want to hear?

So apparently they’re on their way to another “four…..five…..six……seven championships” in Miami…..again (along with the ESPN Heat)

It was interesting when ESPN hired Brian Windhurst to go down and sell Lebron James for the network that Windhurst was sending dispatches back to Cleveland fans saying that Miami was the worst sports city he’d even been to. And friend of mine from Chicago that went down to see the Dolphins play said that the fans were more concerned with the hand carved meats at the game then watching what was going on on the field.

And of course there was the epic advertising campaign that the Heat had to do on TV and Radio last year to encourage their ticket holders to show up on time and stay for the whole game.

Yeah, now everyone in the NFL wants to go down to Miami where an NFL dynasty is a sure thing.

P.S. How about making the playoffs once before making statements like this one.

Or you can just bask in the glory of beating the Colts in the 1st round of the playoffs in 2000!!!!!
