Jim Irsay is giving away two Super Bowl tickets via Twitter

Jim Irsay AP

Colts owner Jim Irsay, a must-follow on Twitter for anyone with any interest in the NFL (or in the obscure, random use of song lyrics), has taken things to a new level on the popular social media platform.

Irsay plans to give two Super Bowl tickets to someone who correctly guesses the name of the next Colts coach.

Guesses must be made by midnight tonight.

But it comes with a warning from Irsay:  “If you predict Rob Lowe, I’ll have to hunt you down like a rabid rat in the dark night and tease your kin and soak ur shoes n salted waters!”

So feel free to predict Rob Lowe.

My guess is the next coach is someone completely off the radar that hasnt been mentioned much this off season. Names like Dom Capers, or Eric Mangini, or Lane Kiffin….lol

Or, maybe Mr Irsay simply has no idea who he needs to hire, and he figures the twitter “experts” can give him some ideas…

    Peyton Manning?

    Thanks for lowering my chances

    Hmm….

Interesting way to go about identifying who you should hire as your next coach.

I guess taking Dungy’s advice and hiring Caldwell wasn’t the best method so why not go the opposite direction.

I’m going to go guess Mike Shula and hope I win.

If there is one player in the NFL that could go directly from playing to being a head coach, it’s Peyton Manning. He’d obviously need to surround himself with a VERY experienced staff howevr, especially at the coordinator spots.

As unlikely as it is, it surely is fun to think about.

Maybe Mr. Irsay is giving a hint by referencing Rob Lowe in the tweet?

Peyton is WILDLY immature and emotional. Have you ever seen him on the sideline?

I don’t think the WR corp would like being blamed by the head coach for every single incompletion.

    @tfbuckfutter

Have you seen the Harbaugh brothers?

I still think irsay is a jerk, but at least he seems to have a sense of humor, so there is some hope.

Twitter is for 14 year old girls and the perverts who chase them. My guess is the winner will be from one of these categories…

You’re burying the lead, or you completely missed it.

Irsay is basically announcing to the world that he is naming a new coach tomorrow.

That’s why he put the midnight deadline in there.

Gotta learn to read between the lines.

BTW- I tweeted my entry: Jim Tressel.

Things we are sick of hearing:
    1) “jim irsay” and “twitter” being mentioned in the same breath.

    2) tony dungy’s 2 cents–which is actually appraised at a value of $-10.00

    3) tim tebow.

    After he tweeted this:

“Talk to many sages..but the independent thinker possess the clearest mind. The path stretches thin on the new horizon…”

I’m guessing Phil Jackson (Former Bulls and Lakers [basketball] coach)

My guess is that Irsay doesn’t have a clue to hire, but he can’t say to NFL fans, “Who should I hire”, so he gets your help in a roundabout way.

I would have to guess the Patriots mascot as that is what the Colts are without Manning. This bird needs a detox talk about drunk tweeting
