The Rams belong in LA.

Sooner or later, LA will recover both the Rams and the Chargers.

Umm, why would he be unable to do so? And if he has the MLB and NFL teams in the same city, he’s not in violation of the cross-ownership rule.

This ‘sign the team’s ownership to a family member’ thing is garbage. Completely circumvents the intent of the policy, which immediately has no teeth if it’s that easy to get around it.

What good has come from anything Kroenke’s owned? Ask the people in his home of Columbia, MO, where he’s turned a prominent downtown shopping area into an unsightly dumping ground for industrial equipment and building materials, which has been a violation of city ordinances for years, but the local government there has meekly avoided any action on it.

Just another “super-citizen” for whom us and our world are just toys in his toybox.

It would be in the NFLs best interest to make an exemption. That court case would be tied up in court for years and the NFL will probably end up doing that anyway.

so Denver Nuggets aren’t in Colorado with the Avelanche? Damn and all this time I thought I did well in geography. @finfan68 he “signed over” those teams to family members to comply with NFL marketing rules. Although he is still technically the owner the paperwork doean’t say so

Another possibility: he buys the Dodgers but doesn’t build an NFL stadium in Chavez Ravine but instead moves the Rams in to the stadium that AEG wants to build by Staples.

Also, I’ve been to Dodger stadium 100 times and I don’t know if two stadiums will fit there. I would think one multi use is better. And he could conceivably get the Raiders or another team to play there also.

He seems pretty ambitious…

I bet Kroenke not only has his eye on the Dodgers but also the surrounding grounds around Dodger Stadium. The grounds are not included in the sale but are owned by Frank McCourt. I think he would then build new stadiums for the Rams and Dodgers at that site. You heard it here first.

Here’s a thought: maybe Kroenke bidding on the Dodgers is evidence that he is NOT thinking of moving the Rams to LA.

Let’s face it, Kroenke is a smart guy; I am sure that he is aware of the current cross-ownership rule that prohibits owning a baseball team and a football team located in the same market. Therefore, if he is thinking of bidding on the Dodgers, a team located in LA, then theoretically this would (or should) cast substantial doubt over his desire to move the Rams to LA – which he would be UNABLE to do if he purchased the Dodgers.

Stan Kroenke owns the St. Louis Rams. And the English soccer club Arsenal. He also owns, through family members, the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche.
