APThe Patriots hold their first practice in preparation for the Super Bowl on Thursday. So the injury report won’t be a piece of fiction this time around.
When the injury report comes out, it will indicate tight end Rob Gronkowski sat out the session with his ankle injury. Bill Belichick confirmed as much as his press conference Thursday. (No soy fiesta?)
Belichick joked that talking injuries is his “favorite topic” and said Gronkowski is feeling “good” before saying his “crystal ball is kind of clouding up.”
We found his remark about tackle Sebastian Vollmer interesting. Vollmer was able to practice in some capacity last week, and Belichick said that Vollmer would definitely be on the gameday roster for the Super Bowl if he can get healthy. Vollmer started five of the six games he’s played this year. He hasn’t suited up since Week 12.
It’s uncertain if Vollmer would start ahead of rookie Nate Solder if Vollmer was able to play. The Patriots often like to use three tackles at the same time, so Vollmer could earn snaps in a “swing tackle” role.

Yawn, like there’s any chance he sits.
It’s the Super Bowl.
If he has a pulse he’ll be out there.
I think Gronk will be OK. His head twisted off earlier in the year, and he was fine after they reattached it with duct tape. Let him rest and be ready for the big game.
Solder was abused by Suggs in the last game, so I don’t know if ‘unfortunate’ is the right word.
Volmer is a young stud RT, but I dont expect anything from him. Lost year due to injuries.
I wouldnt expect Gronk to practice until late next week, if at all.
If you’re not a fan of either team then I think it comes down to whether you want to see Brady 4-1 or Eli 2-0 in the big game. On the other hand, either Brady will be 3-2 or Eli 1-1.

Yeah, Suggs was dominating with no tackles or sacks. Got by once on Solder.
Suggs abused Solder? Did you watch the game? I don’t think I heard Suggs name said more than once.
Gronkowski is a beast among children. Dude will play. Played HS ball with him his senior year and I was a junior. Possibly best athlete Ive ever had the opportunity to be around. I playeda against Pryor in HS too so goes to show you the goods Gronkowski has.

right – Suggs nearly took the game over. if you want to define abuse, it would be: Vince Wilfork, abusing the entire Ravens o-line.

Suggs in that game had 5 solo tackles 0 sacks 1 QB hit, not sure how he “abused” him.
Suggs was a non factor.
Gronkowski is not practicing in order to avoid his own defense getting gronked and demoralized.
Suggs had 2 solo tackles, 3 assists and 1 QB hit. Yea…he was schooling Solder…idiot from Baltimore still does not know what down it is.

=================================
Suggs slowed down a lot after being flattened by Gronkowski in the first quarter.
Search Gronkowski Suggs on youtube to see it.
Get well Gronk – otherwise your team doesn’t have a chance in hell.
Thankfully, Gronk’s hands were not injured.
That is one big set of mitts!
Why should Gronk practice, its a week and 3 days away from the super bowl. Im sure brady is losing sleep…
.
Don’t be surprised if you see 3 tackles and 2 tight ends on some formations.
.
Put the Gronk stories to bed guys. No chance he doesn’t play and no chance you are going to get an update from Bill.
Nothing to see here folks…keep walk’n
Better to see this than the disastrous route the Steelers took with Roethlisberger. They killed their season by bringing him back in too soon. They should have saved him for the playoffs.
Gronk will practice Feb. 5th.
Vollmer hasn’t been discussed much, but if he is back, that is a nice boost for the offensive line.
No one, no one, expected Gronk to practice this week. He has a sprained ankle!
He’ll be ready when it counts.
