Voluble Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff will return for the 2012 season, according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger.

Westhoff’s contract was up and was reportedly considering retirement. Vrentas writes that the Jets expect the Hard Knocks star to retire after the 2012 season.

Westfhoff was in the news lately after taking some shots by Giants punter Steve Weatherford, who says he’s more succesful this year because “playing for the Jets and playing for that positional coach was draining, difficult and physically taxing.”

Weatherfood keeps a clipping of a dismissive Westhoff comment above his locker. We’re happy to learn Westhoff will continue to make dismissive comments for at least another season.
