Rob Gronkowski’s dad Gordie probably isn’t Bill Belichick’s favorite person right about now.

Gordie gave away some injury information which the Patriots would rather keep secret. Mr. Gronk told WIVB’s John Murphy (via CSNNE.com) that his son has a high ankle sprain.

It’s not particularly surprising news, but the Patriots prefer to keep all injury details private. Gronkowski missed practice Thursday, but Gordie said his son would be able to play in the Super Bowl in pain.

Gronkowski is the most indispensable player on the Patriots offense besides Tom Brady, so his health will be key on Super Bowl Sunday. Gordie can’t believe what a star his son has become.

“I wake up every morning, and I can’t believe what’s happening. I pick up the New York Times, and here Robbie’s in the New York Times, hes got a half page in the New York Times. I pick up our paper and Robbie’s picture is here and there. I turn on ESPN, he’s all over ESPN SportsCenter.”

Turn on SportsCenter in the next hour and Gordie will probably be on there with his son.
